Alright babes, this is the only photo I’m posting of our babe for now. I want to keep her privacy, but I’ve been missing you guys! So here’s your one sneak peak. If you want more, send me a message or text.

Life as a mom has been pretty great 🥰 This year I’ve been somewhat reclusive and I think some of you will understand. The last 5 years have been all about building community, family, and gaining confidence as an artist. This year, I decided to turn inward and nurture the relationships I already have. When I found out I was pregnant, that made even more sense to me. I have missed being social and connecting with you all on insta and around town, and I’m sure I’ll be back online when the craving hits. :)

I’ve struggled a lot with my artistic expression this year and I think it’s because what I’m feeling drawn to has changed so much. I wish it was as easy as continuing to do buildings and animals and focusing on community, but my art is a reflection of how I’m feeling. And turning inward is a lot more private and personal than expanding my community and making friends. While I struggled with this, at some point I decided to stop trying to figure out what inspires me and just be. What I ended up with is my photo album (printing photos every month to help me remember how cool my life is 10 years form now lol), art journaling about my experiences, having adventures (hiking 3-8 miles while pregnant 🥳), nurturing friendships and reassuring close friends I won’t disappear, having a baby moon (all summer spent at water world 💦), making my baby announcement cards, starting a baby memory book, and meeting new moms and embracing this experience (because it’s gonna go so fast, and if you don’t know already, I’m incredibly sentimental and want to cling onto every moment while it lasts). Phew, that was a lot of words… so if you’re still here, thanks for sticking with me.

Plein Air Festival with a few weeks ago 🥰 Meg sold her piece right off the easel, and I sold one on opening night! 😍😍😍

I’m 31 weeks pregnant today y’all! That means ~9 weeks left!!! 😱😱😱 So, I’ve entered my nesting phase. Lots of stuff happening at home, lots of prep happening, but less easy to share public photos.

What I’m up to when I’m not making art, prepping for baby, or busting my ass on graphic design projects, is getting outside. 🙂 .a.r.a.m.a.n.n took me up to Frisco over the weekend and I’m so grateful 🥰 We had brunch, then after a few snafus, we successfully found this secluded hiking trail near Lake Dillon Reservoir. I’m so glad I have amazing friends that spoil me with outdoor time ❤️ Does anyone want to guess how many miles we walked while I was 26 weeks pregnant (6 months)?

I can’t get over how beautiful Brainard Lake nature area is 😍 I love the woods up there, the water, the way the light and magic glisten. We hiked around 6 miles and felt wonderfully exhausted at the end of the day. This is the view from the Long Lake Loop Trail. Here you can see my bestie Meg & I sketching at the end of our trip! Beware mosquitos. At the edge of every lake is basically marshland lol. I did a quick sketch of the landscape with Megs color pencil bc I forgot mine and really love how it turned out. ☺️

Big news y’all! Coy Ink is havin a baby! Baby is due in October 🙂 And I’m also taking the rest of the year off from teaching and markets. Still working on freelance projects, but taking some me time before baby comes.
