Every collage is a series of design decisions. 🤔

Avoiding repetition. Preserving the details that matter. Creating little moments that connect one image to the next.

It’s how a collection of photos becomes a story. If you have a camera roll full of memories, I’d love to help tell yours. 🎞️

Calendar reminders, Asana tasks, caffeine (coffee black for Candice and chai lattes for Greg), and 2 friends who check in once a week to make sure we’re still alive.

What is the first thing you look for when picking up a map, and where do you expect to find it? 🤔💭

These are the core questions we ask ourselves during the process, and we let the answers guide the design. Some people go straight to the list of activations while others prefer a bird’s-eye view of the entire layout. To accommodate both styles, the final design highlights information in both formats, ensuring an easy experience regardless of preference.

Are you a “go to the map” person or a “look at the list” person? 🗺️📃

Designing a Map: Part 1

This map is not to scale. Did you notice? 🤫

If kept to scale, the font size for the map numbers would have been around 5pt—a size typically reserved for fine print. Because the goal is to highlight information, the text should be at 8pt or above.

Adjusting the map also creates space for clear icons. Now, instead of constantly checking back and forth between a key and the map, guests can immediately spot the stage, restrooms, and ticket booths.

Follow for more behind-the-scenes design thinking.
