In 2019, I lost my beloved mother to Alzheimer’s. I had to drop the life I knew to become her full-time caregiver, while raising my daughter as a single mother.
While I wasn’t the only adult child, my siblings did not lift a finger to help. I had to stay strong, because there was no room to fall apart. Just me holding everything—and mom, together.
By day, I cared for her.
By night, depression sat heavy on my chest.
I drove Uber and Lyft just so I could stay available to care for her.
I was…
Exhausted.
