New Community Host Alert: Welcome to the Cerebral Palsy Village!

Hello! My name is Aubrey, and I’m thrilled to join My Parent Cafe as the newest moderator for the Cerebral Palsy subcommunity. I’m 27 years old and live with a moderate case of Ataxic Cerebral Palsy, which affects my mobility and speech. Living with CP has shaped my perspective and resilience, and combined with my education and career, it has given me a deep understanding of the disability community. My goal is to use these experiences to support and empower this community to the best of my ability.

Our Baristas aren’t just moderators; they are people and parents who have “been there” and are here to serve up support, shared experiences, and a safe space to talk about the moments that matter.

Learn more about our friendly and supportive moderators in our CP community and join MyParentCafe.com for free today. Get help and advice when you need - Give help and insights when you can.

New Barista Community Host Alert: Welcome to the Autism Village!

“I want to help create the kind of supportive, compassionate community I wish I had in the early days.” - Olivia Ganguzza

We are thrilled to introduce our newest Host in the MyParent Café Autism Village. Being a parent on this journey can feel isolating, especially at the start—but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Our Baristas aren’t just moderators; they are parents who have “been there” and are here to serve up support, shared experiences, and a safe space to talk about the moments that matter.

Parenting: The ultimate “long game” 🏃‍♂️💨
They say “the days are long, but the years are short.” But let’s be real—some days feel like they’re 74 hours long, and 40 of those hours are spent looking for a missing shoe or negotiating how many bites of broccoli equal a dessert.
One minute you’re wondering if you’ll ever sleep again, and the next, you’re looking at old photos wondering how they grew up so fast.
So today, rememberr
• The laundry can wait (it’s not going anywhere, unfortunately).
• Coffee is a food group.
• You are doing a great job, even on the days you feel like a chaotic taxi driver.
Enjoy the madness while it lasts—before you know it, they’ll be grown up and you’ll actually have a clean house (and you’ll probably hate how quiet it is).
Hang in there,
The MyParentcafe.com Team ☕️✨

The “holiday dream” vs. the “holiday reality.” 🕊️

For many of our families, the bright lights, loud music, and “Santa magic” are sensory hurdles rather than joys. If you’re trading big traditions for structure and routine to keep your child regulated—you’re doing an incredible job.

Holidays may look different than you once hoped, but they are no less meaningful. To every parent pivoting, planning, and protecting their child’s peace: we see you and we support you.

Join today’s holiday discussion on MyParentCafe.com in our Autism community.

Today's Highlight on MyParentCafe.com is selected from the Simply For Dads Cafe - The "Why" Behind Sending My Daughter Halfway Across the Globe for Summer Camp 🌍

My daughter has studied Mandarin for years. Last year's week-long day camp was a hit, but this year, I told her she had graduated. No more haggling for bubble tea in our city's Chinatown—it was time to speak Mandarin in a Chinese city!

Her initial reaction: pure silence, then a futile "Noooooo!" 🤦‍♂️

But deep down, she knew immersion was the most effective way to learn. With every safety measure, tech tool, and backup plan in place, I knew this was an experience she needed.

Fast forward two weeks: She didn't just learn Mandarin; she picked up Russian words from her camp friends from all over the world! The two weeks flew by. Seeing that hug of gratitude at the airport told me everything.
Sometimes, the best life lessons come with a one-way ticket and a little protest. 😉
