SEPTEMBER HAS ARRIVED. 🖤
There’s finally a little chill in the air in the early mornings here in Las Vegas, which means we can pretend fall is coming. Eventually.

September’s Cemetery Pulp calendar features Danielle Schrudder, owner and creator of Vyla’s Vials.

Danielle creates cruelty-free, handmade jewelry from precious metals, Swarovski crystals, and ethically sourced materials. Her work also celebrates the strange and beautiful world of insects and spiders, incorporating naturally deceased specimens into distinctive pieces of wearable art.

Delicate. Dark. A little strange. Exactly the kind of beauty we like around here. 🕷️🖤

Welcome to September. May the mornings get cooler, the shadows get longer and the weirdness continue.

This image took considerably more patience than it might appear. I walked across the bridge in the heat and humidity, then waited nearly half an hour for the sunset to develop. The final photograph is a 15-image HDR panoramic composite, assembled from multiple exposures to capture the full breadth of the scene, from Bally’s illuminated architecture to the glowing sky reflecting across the river and Sam’s Town. Bally’s and Sam’s Town are now sister properties in Shreveport, making the scene a particularly fitting portrait of the riverfront.

Come closer.

The cards have something to tell you.

Whether you want to hear it is another matter. 🔮

Behind the image:
A 3-light setup built to keep the mood dark and dramatic, sculpting Mystic Marie with controlled light while letting the background fall away into shadow. I wanted this to feel less like a portrait of a tarot reader and more like you've just walked into a room where something has already been decided. How did I do?

Dark elegance with Danielle, owner and maker of Vyla's Vials.

Every piece she creates carries its own story and I wanted this portrait to feel the same, minimal, striking and a little mysterious.

3 lights and no AI. Just careful lighting, thoughtful styling and an incredible subject.

Danielle also recently sat down for an interview on Untitled Interview on YouTube, where she talks about her work and creative journey. If you're curious about the artist behind Vyla's Vials, it's worth checking out.
