Dearest Spring,
We’ve been waiting for you.
Today felt like the right day to share The Poet’s Herbarium - a collection I’ve been quietly building. Ten original watercolor and cut paper collages inspired by the flowers Emily Dickinson grew, pressed, and wrote about. Lilacs, daffodils, wild roses, clover. All the ones she loved best.
She kept a real pressed herbarium - hundreds of flowers, labeled by her own hands, long before anyone thought to call it art. She loved them the way I love them - tenderly, a little obsessively. She just knew that some beauty deserves to last.
There’s something about the particular ache of almost-spring - watching for the first lilac, the first daffodil - that I think about all year long. This collection is for that feeling. For anyone who’s ever stood next to a lilac bush and just... stayed there for a while.
