Today in Theme Park History: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit officially opened at Universal Studios Florida on August 19, 2009.

Standing 167 feet tall with a 90-degree vertical lift, 65 mph top speed, and its unforgettable choose-your-own soundtrack feature, Rockit quickly became one of Universal Orlando’s most recognizable thrills.

With the coaster now part of Universal history after closing in 2025, this anniversary hits a little differently. From the music to the lift hill to that skyline-dominating track, Rockit left behind a loud, wild, and unforgettable legacy.

Rest in peace, Hayden Panettiere.

I’ve enjoyed the Scream franchise for years, and Hayden’s portrayal of Kirby Reed quickly became one of my favorite parts of the series. Kirby was smart, sarcastic, tough, knew her horror movies, and always felt like a character who truly belonged in the world of Scream.

Seeing Hayden return in Scream VI after so many years made it even more special. Kirby wasn’t just back — she was still a survivor.

Hayden leaves behind a career that reached far beyond Scream, but Kirby Reed will always be the role I remember her for most.

Thank you for the memories, Hayden. You will be missed.

Indy’s next adventure has a name.

Disney revealed **Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent**, coming to Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The new attraction will feature an original Maya-inspired story, new Audio-Animatronics, and Harrison Ford serving as the model for Indy himself.

And yes… there will be snakes.
