After a lot of going back and forth for months, I’ve made the decision to shut down operation on Painted Peony Co after a year and a half. I’ve had such a wonderful time creating art and building a community as I dealt with challenging times and worked through a lot. You all have been so so wonderful and supportive, and I couldn’t have made it as far as I did without you all!

I’ve been blessed with a new job that takes up the majority of my time, and Demetrius and I will be moving within the next couple of months. It only made sense to take the remainder of our time in our Tampa apartment to do a final closeout sale for PPC!

All items in the shop are 50-60% off, including some limited restocks and bestselling items! The goal is to clean house and have a full sellout by the time moving day comes around! This isn’t necessarily goodbye forever, but in this chapter of our lives, Painted Peony Co is something we are leaving behind for now.

𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑏𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑔𝑢𝑛 ✨

Against all odds, I made it to Magic Kingdom for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary! I’m so grateful to be here in the midst of all of the magic (and madness) to begin the highly anticipated 18-month celebration. Disney has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and most of my favorite and special memories are from this magical place! From going as a child, coming as a teenager and performing at Candlelight, to becoming a Cast Member and working in some of my favorite roles, and now incorporating Disney into my shop, it’s such a special place to me.

Happy 50th, WDW. You are so magical, thank you for being a part of my life ✨

I’m finally home from my whirlwind of a week! Last weekend, I went to New York City for the first time since before the pandemic began. Demetrius and I wanted to be there for the first week or Broadway reopening and got to see Wicked perform its 4th performance since reopening, and it was truly so, so magical. We ate so much good food and made our way around the city in just a few days. The city was requiring proof of vaccination pretty much everywhere, which helped us feel super safe in a time of uncertainty!

When I got home, I had a day to do laundry, unpack, and repack for my girls’ trip to Disneyland with my mom and sister for her 21st birthday! I hadn’t been to Disneyland since I was young, let alone as a Cast Member, and I truly had such a wonderful time. We stayed at Disneyland Hotel which was a DREEEAAAAMMM and got to spend a few days in the parks!

In case you’ve missed it, my official favorite new park is definitely Disney California Adventure! Disneyland was magical and nostalgic, but the theming, attractions, food, and drinks at DCA were top tier. Any guesses as to what my favorite ride was?!

I’m definitely already looking forward to my next trip, but I’m happy to be home and to finally start working tomorrow! These trips were definitely rough on my leg, and I’m looking forward to going back to physical therapy to get some more work done on it. For now, it’s packing orders and headin off to the post office ✨

If you haven’t seen what’s going on in Texas - I’m here to break it down for you. Regardless of your 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 beliefs on abortion, please take the time to educate yourself on what is happening.

The war on woman’s bodies is continuing on as the six-week abortion ban law was placed into effect in Texas last week — for any and all cases. Most women don’t even know that they are pregnant by six weeks. On top of this, anyone can sue the woman, an abortion provider or anyone involved in the process of the abortion, even an Uber/Lyft driver completely disconnected from the situation. But do you know who won’t be sued? The man who impregnated the woman in the first place. In fact, the man who impregnated the woman can even have a friend or family member sue the woman on behalf of him.

Just because you might personally not believe in having an abortion yourself doesn’t mean we should ignore the needs of other women who are making this difficult decision. There are an abundance of reasons for a woman deciding to have the procedure, and none of those reasons need to be shared, because it’s not our business or the government’s.

There is absolutely no male accountability with this law. None. This needs to end now. It is not the responsibility of the government to take over our bodies and take away our decisions regarding our own personal health.

Any negative comments will be removed. This is not a space for debate.

𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 ✨

Painted Peony Co was born out of a state of catharsis in the midst of the COVID-19 initial lockdown in April of 2020. What began as a blog quickly transformed into an Instagram account where I shared my words, and eventually my art. My following grew as I found my niche. I was encouraged to start selling some of my pieces, and hence, the Etsy shop was created! I started with stickers, had some digital artwork, and a few prints. I was pleasantly surprised with every 'drop' of new products. The pieces I was creating, my followers, friends, and family were wanting and buying.
 I closed my shop temporarily in March of 2021 as I prepared for my wedding and honeymoon and move. I was only planning on being closed for a few weeks - but at my wedding, had a freak accident and broke my femur and my patella while dancing. My honeymoon was indefinitely postponed, I was on bedrest, and had no desire to reopen the shop anytime soon. I didn't feel any spark of creativity and constantly felt burnt-out. I fell into a depression for a while in what should have been the happiest months of my life and my marriage.   Flash forward to now - I finally started to catch a glimpse of the light, and with the encouragement of my husband, friends, and family, I finally found it in me to start working on the shop again. I feel brighter than ever and can't wait to see what the following months hold for me! I'm putting myself back into this world and allowing myself to feel freely - to swim in my creativity rather than drowning in high expectations for myself. I know there will be low lows and high highs, but I'm here, ready to do this again after a five month hiatus.   I'm healing physically and mentally and looking forward to the magic waiting for me. Thank you for being here and supporting me always, I couldn't do it without you all.

After a VERY long five month hiatus, I’m so so excited to finally announce that I’ll be reopening the shop on 𝙈𝙊𝙉𝘿𝘼𝙔!

It’s been such a long time since I packed an order and I can’t wait to get back to it. I gotta pay my hospital bills somehow, right?! I’ve been prepping the office, switching things around on Etsy, taking new product pics, and even getting new products ready to go! As a reminder, the following products will be available:

The Disney College Program is 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 BACK! Seeing all of the new CPs really had me wanting to finish an enneagram series I started before the wedding and craziness happened!

You might remember me doing some polls wayyyyy back when to gather some of your own personal experiences to put this together, and I LOVE how it came out! I figured that after all of this time away, it was probably time for a reintroduction to everyone ✨

My name is Anna, I’m 23 years old and live in Florida with my new husband, Demetrius! I work at Disney in Guest Relations, and have been with the company for 4 years now. I started on the Disney College Program, worked my way into staying part-time, and have worked in food and beverage, attractions, and now Guest Relations!

Some fun facts about moí:
• I have an almost two year old Australian Shepherd named Paisley — she is playful, loving, stubborn, and my favorite coworker!
• My favorite genre of music is Taylor Swift
• My favorite Disney park is Hollywood Studios
• I could eat tacos every day of the week
• Demetrius is my high school sweetheart
• I’m a former Starbucks barista
• My favorite colors are light pink and white
• I broke my leg at my wedding 🤷🏼‍♀️

I started Painted Peony Co over quarantine just as a way to keep my mind occupied during some rough patches, but my ever-loyal followers were the ones who helped me turn it in to what it is today. I’m so so grateful for each and every one of you being here and can’t wait to share good news about reopening the shop SOON! 🤍

I’ve had a few posts waiting to join my feed, but I overthink every time I’m ready to post: “Anna, you only have 7 posts designed, what if you hit that creative wall and don’t have anything to post after the week is over? Are you going to go back into hiding? What if nothing is good enough? What if you’ve been away for too long, and they just aren’t interested anymore?” These thoughts race through my head on a loop.

This past year has been such an emotional roller coaster, and I don’t think I ever gave myself a second to breathe. I started Painted Peony Co during lockdown last year before returning to Disney, just selling stickers and doing some logo/portrait work. I loved what God gave me to do during such a strange time.. but shortly after going back to work, my dad died. I took a break from the shop, but came back stronger than ever (or so I thought) with more products and more designs. I noticed that I was suffering from burnout and imposter syndrome almost every day, but that didn’t stop me, because I was so proud of what I had created.

I got engaged in September and had a short engagement to fully plan a wedding, honeymoon, to keep working at Disney, and to keep PPC going. My brain was fried, y’all. I was so excited to shut the shop down for a few weeks as I moved all of my things into our new 2 bedroom apartment in Tampa, in which one of the rooms would act as the office space for PPC. I was ready to leave Disney and do PPC full-time, until I got a call a week before the wedding offering my job in Guest Relations back to me. I was beyond excited, and decided after returning from our honeymoon, I would split my week between Disney and PPC. Ya know — until the wedding happened, and I broke my leg.

I’ve been home now for about 10 weeks working on healing my leg and letting myself truly take this time to rest and recuperate, and I’m so glad I did. I plan on (finally!) reopening the shop here within a few weeks, and I’m so excited to start sharing with all of you again. Thank you for the outpouring love and support, y’all mean the world to me 🤍

And yes… long story short, i survived ✨
