Instagram vs. Reality:

Last week my mom and I went to the park to try out my new wheelchair! It went so well. I got home and when she was taking out the trash, I fell. It’s so unpredictable. I was next to my rollator but when I took a step to the right to go to my chair, my leg just didn’t work and I was down. There’s no reaction time to catch myself. I got some rug burns and am sore, still getting my energy back, but I’m okay!! Nothing is broken, which is always good news after a fall. I was also thankful this happened in my condo on the carpet, instead of at the park on the concrete. I’ll take that as a win.

Sharing because this is the daily struggle when living with a disorder. You can do everything rights, but the rest is out of your control. Gotta keep getting up and moving forward. Not going to let the hard days win. 💪

From a messy sketch to a final design.✏️

I worked with The Tile Style, Mahj + More to create this St. Louis themed mahjong mat. This one started out where so many of my designs do: with an idea, a grid, a pencil, a LOT of sketches, and me trying to figure out how to fit as many St. Louis icons into one design.

I love getting to take the ideas and turn them into something colorful, playful, and actually ready to put on a product.

This is your reminder that the first sketch does NOT have to be pretty. It just has to get the idea out. It showed them my concept and we finalized it together!
