There's nothing like a last minute request from your principal for unit or course documentation.

Probably not our favorite Friday activity, but it has to be done.

Colleague AI can help teachers and educators produce required documentation in 5-10 minutes, ready for your review.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use AI to produce required curriculum documentation: https://www.colleague.ai/how-to-create-curriculum-documents-for-your-principal/

Use class plans, documents or activities you've already created, rubrics, standards, your school or district's existing curriculum documents, and even a template if there's one you're required to use!

A good rubric has to do four things at once: align to the actual standard, use language a sixth grader can read, differentiate clearly between score levels, and give students a way to check their own work before they turn it in.

Building one from scratch, for every assignment, on top of everything else on a teacher's plate, is where rubrics quietly get skipped or reused past their expiration date.

Our latest post walks through how to use Colleague AI to create a standards-aligned rubric.

No more excuses for skipping this step - it literally takes

Picture a seventh-grade ELA class where all students have the same learning objective — cite textual evidence to explain how a character changes.

But 12 students reading two grade levels above and 9 reading two levels below.

So how do you create three separate lesson plans so that you're being fair to all your students and still survive the day let alone the week?

Our latest post walks through how to use Colleague AI to generate three tiered paths from a single lesson objective in less than 10 minutes without sacrificing quality or instructional best practices.

A new student shows up in your classroom with a 22-page IEP that you just found out about. You don't have time to read 22 pages in the next 4 minutes.

So what do you do?

In today's blog post, we walk through how to use AI to help with IEPs - focusing on how to implement them as a teacher.

A great K-12 AI tool can be truly invaluable to helping teachers accommodate students with IEPs in their classes without adding hours and hours and hours of work while maintaining high quality instructional standards and learning journeys.

Minor panic: you need a lesson plan and you only have 1 period to make it.

That was not how you envisioned today: you'd set aside 3 periods to make this plan, but one you lost to the uncooperative printer, and you got called into a meeting for the other.

Our latest post walks through exactly how a teacher builds a complete, differentiated lesson plan with Colleague AI in under 10 minutes — feeding in standards, grade level, class duration, and student readiness levels, reviewing a full lesson architecture (hook, instruction, tiered activities, formative checks, exit tickets), then refining specific sections on the fly.

You get a high-quality lesson plan ready to use for your next period - and still have time to make activities, do some grading, or anything else you need: https://www.colleague.ai/how-to-create-a-quality-lesson-plan-in-less-than-10-minutes/

We are in full swing with training sessions and PD days! Every day this week we're on-site at a different client 🙌

Not only do we have a lot of fun, turns out that teachers like the Colleague AI platform so much, we had to move to an auditorium to continue training sessions!!

🎉 BIG NEWS: the National Science Foundation just backed us with a Phase II SBIR grant, up to $2M over the next two years.

This is a highly distinguished award, following a successful Phase I grant that helped us build the platform we have today. Phase II funds what comes next: agentic architecture, assessment and student feedback systems, an on-demand classroom data analyst, 3-actor learning models (student-teacher-AI), and AI tutoring with real context on curriculum, student competencies, and specific assignments.

"Phase I proved that AI, built with effective pedagogical grounding, can outperform other tools in the market both in quality and through research on AI's impact on education," said Dr. Min Sun, co-founder and CEO. "Phase II is about expanding today’s agentic abilities and our disciplined research-based approach as well as selecting districts who have specific requests for AI features that they want developed."

The grant means we can focus on research, co-design with K-12 stakeholders, extensive evaluation, thorough testing with school district alphas and betas, and better interoperability.

📣 We are actively seeking district partners with requests for new AI features and tools willing to co-develop under the grant as well, with options for additional funds up to $250K!!

Who doesn't want that?!

Ever wanted to shape how an edtech tool used by hundreds of thousands of people is built? Now is your opportunity!

We're recruiting K-12 educators for an ongoing research panel tied to our federally funded work with the University of Washington's AmplifyLearn.AI Center. The panel supports research under an Institute of Education Sciences grant with the Department of Education.

Panel members get invited to usability tests, surveys, and co-design sessions as new features move toward release. You choose which ones to join, with no obligation to any single study.

Teachers, paraeducators, instructional coaches, specialists, and administrators are all welcome, whether you're an AI skeptic or already building lessons with it. No prior AI experience required.

Panelists get first access to beta features before anyone else. Every feature we build starts with understanding what our users actually need, then co-designing, building, and testing together with them.

The ultimate dread: you're sick and sub plans aren't written. And you have no energy to write them.

Colleague AI eliminates that dread! Upload your standards, add classroom context (which students need what, how your block schedule works), and the platform generates a complete sub package: standards-aligned lesson, backup activity, rubric, answer keys, time blocks—everything a substitute needs to teach your curriculum.

The Colleague AI platform handles the drafting so you're not scrambling at midnight or skipping lesson quality because you're out of time or energy.

Read our step-by-step guide of how to create sub plans (and a rubric to go with): https://www.colleague.ai/how-to-use-ai-to-create-sub-plans-for-tomorrow-morning/
