Your students' homework session — now visible to teachers. 👀

Colleague AI lets teachers see an overview of how a student has used their AI tools and the full AI conversation while working through an assignment or assessment. Not just the finished product, but their whole journey: where they got stuck, what they asked, and how they progressed.

That's not just data, that's invaluable insight you couldn't get before.

Not all K-12 AI platforms have such visibility, but they should in our opinion.

Michael and Victor represented AmplifyLearn national research center from the University of Washington and Colleague AI at the AI4MN Conference in Minnesota earlier this week.

They had 2 panels
In their panel on district-wide AI adoption, they walked district leaders through the strategic planning, policy development, training timelines, and funding strategies that actually make AI stick — drawing from real 2025–2026 school year experiences in both small rural districts and larger systems.

In their hands-on workshop on AI-powered formative assessment, they put rubric customization, batch grading, and standards-based feedback workflows directly in attendees' hands — showing how AI can accelerate the feedback cycle without pulling educators out of the driver's seat.

One consistent message: when AI is implemented thoughtfully, teachers do more of what they're actually trained to do.

Most AI tools for students start from zero every session.

There is no memory of what a student mastered last week, which explanation finally landed, or where they are still stuck on the same concept they were stuck on in October.

This is silly - LLMs literally have memory!

LLM memory gives AI a persistent, accumulating understanding of each individual learner — their knowledge gaps, their progress trajectory, and how they respond to different approaches to the same material.

Colleague AI is sponsoring a team to attend AmplifyLearn research center's annual ISEA Summer Hackweek (June 22–26) to develop this capability specifically for K–12 learning. ISEA is an IES-funded program that trains researchers and data scientists at the intersection of AI, machine learning, and education.

When a tutoring system genuinely knows a student's learning history, the quality and precision of support it can offer changes in ways that matter for real students in real classrooms.

Most AI tools start from zero every time. No context about who's teaching, what grade, what subject, what the class actually looks like, students' strengths and weaknesses, student skills and abilities, etc. The output is technically correct but completely generic.

Colleague AI is designed to be customized and to learn YOUR ways, YOUR school, YOUR students, YOUR district, YOUR preferences.

Educatosr can use account settings to set their grade levels, subjects, and teaching preferences in the platform — and from that point on, every lesson plan, assessment, differentiated material, and IEP draft is calibrated to that context.

It's not "just a setting" - it actually changes what the AI assistants and agents actually produce: the vocabulary it uses, the Lexile ranges it targets, the standards it aligns to, the accommodation language it defaults to.

"Personalized learning" has appeared in approximately every EdTech pitch deck, conference keynote, and product homepage since 2015. It has been overused and without depth.

So let's be specific about what it means when Colleague AI says personalized learning: the ability to customize learning for any learner, at scale, every day, every week of the school year.

This means the lesson plans generated simultaneously across multiple Lexile levels — for students in a single class by their level, at once. It means IEP goal language drafted in the right terminology. Student tutoring adapted to each learner's level, in 50+ languages. Accommodation and modification language built from teacher notes.
