Did you know marshmallows could be this much fun?

We warmed some in the microwave, then stretched that soft, sticky mess into long, gooey strands. It turned into a little kitchen experiment—and, if you ask me, a bit of abstract art!

Then I took the person out of the picture so the marshmallow could have its moment in the spotlight. Sometimes all it takes to make an ordinary day more fun is a little curiosity, a little silliness, and a willingness to laugh at the sticky results.

Carried Through the Generations

When I look at this painting, I see a young woman standing on the hand of someone who came before her. To me, that hand represents the life and foundation James and Catharine built for their family—and the generations who carried their hopes forward.

The young woman is looking down a path she has not yet traveled. She carries the stories, struggles, and love of those who came before her, even as she makes her own way into the future. That is what family history means to me. We are shaped by the people who lived before us, and we have a part in deciding what we carry forward.

I stand in that young woman’s place now. My ancestors’ stories have been placed in my hands, and I use my voice to keep them alive. Their journey is part of mine, and the story continues with each generation.
