Some moments deserve a second look, and some stories are just getting started.

Here’s a little throwback to some of my favorite faces, details, and moments behind the lens. From the personalities to the people behind the gear, every photo has a story worth telling.

And trust me… the next few weeks are going to be worth watching. 👀

New faces. New departments. New perspectives. A few surprises I’m keeping under wraps for now.

Stay close. You never know who—or what—might be in front of The PIO Lens next. 🔥

She’s got the skills, the confidence, and the heart to handle whatever the next call throws her way.

She’s an EMT. She’s trained to step into the chaos, take control when every second counts, and be the calm in someone else’s worst moment.

But behind the uniform is a woman who has worked hard to earn her place in a profession where showing up is only half the battle.

Strong. Capable. Unapologetically herself.

This is what a woman who answers the call looks like. 🚑🚨

Somewhere along the way, I stopped just taking pictures of fire scenes and started looking for the stories inside them.

The name on a coat. The wear on a set of gear. The firefighter you almost miss in the background. The few seconds between one job and the next.

That’s the stuff I find myself photographing.

You see the uniform.
I wanted you to see the person wearing it.

She’s a Rescue Technician. An Advanced EMT. And when the call comes in, her job is pretty simple to explain—find a way to get to you.

In the water. Down an embankment. Inside a wrecked vehicle. Wherever the emergency takes her.

From swiftwater rescue to vehicle extrication, technical rescue to emergency medicine, she’s trained for the situations where simply getting to the patient can be half the battle.

Because sometimes saving a life starts long before you ever reach the back of an ambulance.

This is what answering the call looks like.

Please. SLOW down. MOVE over. Let them go home.

Last night, three firefighters and an EMS provider were struck by a vehicle while working an accident scene on I-26.

I don’t personally know everyone involved but they are part of the same first responder community I’m privileged to photograph, and this one hits incredibly close to home.

When you see emergency lights ahead, slow down and move over safely. Those lights aren’t just marking an accident scene. There are firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law enforcement officers, tow operators and others standing on that roadway doing their jobs—often just feet away from moving traffic.

They have families waiting for them. They have people who expect them to walk back through the door after their shift.

Give them the space to do their job. Give them the chance to go home. Please.

Keeping the members of Kingsport Fire Department , Sullivan County EMS , their families, and everyone involved in my thoughts as they recover.

Apparently, I’m officially the girl who can’t go anywhere without her camera anymore. 😂📸

Spent last night at the Bristol Night Race, and let me tell you… it doesn’t get much more American than this. 🇺🇸🏁

Brad Pitt as Grand Marshal, Lee Greenwood singing “God Bless the USA” with a bald eagle soaring overhead, military aircraft flying over during the National Anthem, and legends like Bill Dance and Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris in attendance. And to top it all off, a special tribute honoring the one and only Dolly Parton. 🩷

Fast cars, American pride, country music, and a whole lot of horsepower under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway. Talk about the American dream!

Of course, I had to capture a little bit of it all through my lens. At this point, my camera might as well be permanently attached to me, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 😂🔥
