This is one it’s admittedly taken me years to allow myself to believe.

…every summer I watch solopreneurs disappear completely OR burn themselves out trying to keep an October pace in July.

(and neither one is the answer, IMO)

Bc, my friend, the magic was never the template!⁠
⁠
It was the photo choice.⁠
The design elements.⁠
The color swaps.⁠
The font combinations.⁠
The background upgrades.⁠
⁠
The little tweaks that made each one feel like a real person rather than a Canva template with a name slapped on it.⁠
⁠
That’s the part I find people skip!!⁠
⁠
They change a few words, maybe swap a color, and then wonder why their Canva template still feels generic. 😮‍💨⁠

Because customizing a template and making it feel like your brand are not the same thing.⁠

Also so much love to all my service based solopreneurs out there. The world of IG we need to keep up with isn’t for the feint of heart, I’ll tell ya that much!

I get asked once a week how I get my background to be blurry! Here’s how 💁🏼‍♀️

1. Open up Instagram stories like you’re going to take a story.
2. Drag your finger on your screen from the top right hand corner towards the center of your screen.
3. Click on the green bar at the very top that says Instagram (hard to see in the video, sorry!)
4. Click on “Portrait” to activate portrait mode and get the blurry background effect

I have an iPhone - and this does not then work in my regular camera roll. Only inside IG when taking videos in your stories!

Repeat the process to turn it OFF.
