Introducing our new 4-port VNA, designed for simultaneous multi-channel measurements with excellent phase matching and reliable multi-channel validation.

With full matrix characterization capabilities, it is ideal for:
• Differential and signal integrity measurements
• Phased array and beamforming systems
• RF switches and multiport devices
• MIMO and wireless infrastructure

By enabling simultaneous measurements across multiple ports, the system helps eliminate long validation cycles and repeated recalibration while simplifying automation workflows and improving measurement efficiency.

Is the lower-cost instrument actually the lower-cost solution? We performed an in-depth comparative analysis between the Copper Mountain Technologies SC0902 and a budget-priced benchtop VNA from a well-known supplier. The measured results suggest that the competing instrument does not deliver the accuracy and uncertainty performance expected from a metrology-grade VNA.

Beyond dynamic range versus frequency, the study examines receiver linearity and normalization stability — second-order effects that are rarely emphasized in data sheets, yet are critical in determining whether a calibration remains valid and whether the resulting S-parameter measurements can truly be trusted.

We are proud to introduce the industry’s first native macOS software for Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs). Included with every purchase, the new CMT VNA software delivers full RF and microwave measurement capability on macOS, alongside Windows and Linux, without requiring additional operating systems or external control platforms.

Engineers can perform both manual measurements and automated RF testing using SCPI commands via TCP/IP sockets, enabling seamless integration into modern test and automation workflows. This native macOS support simplifies setup while maintaining the precision and performance of CMT VNAs.

Designed for R&D, aerospace, defense, and advanced product development environments, this release brings greater flexibility, efficiency, and workflow integration to macOS-based engineering teams.

mmWave S-parameters testing is often treated as a measurement problem. In reality, it’s an architecture problem. Many labs and production lines still rely on traditional VNA + frequency extender configurations that were never designed with scalability or cost efficiency in mind. The result?

• High capital cost per test station
• Complex cabling and fragile setups
• Limited ability to scale production testing
• VNAs locked into single-use configurations

This is where test capacity quietly breaks down - not because the measurement is impossible, but because the system around it is inefficient.

The newly introduced BFx-02 Frequency Extension Base changes that dynamic by shifting away from full VNA-dependent architectures. It supports a more efficient mmWave setup where signal generation and measurement roles can be decoupled, reducing system complexity and cost barriers. Instead of scaling VNAs, labs now can scale throughput. That distinction matters even more as mmWave moves from R&D into high-volume production applications.
