Paid advertising are feeling less hands-on than they used to, that is by design. Five big changes have rolled out all in roughly eight weeks.
1. Dynamic Search Ads are being retired.
2. Display campaigns are moving into Demand Gen, with less control over where your ads appear.
3. Microsoft is removing maximum cost-per-click limits from new campaigns using standalone bidding, starting October 1.
4. Meta removed manual placement exclusions, replacing them with bid adjustments.
5. Local Services Ads is moving into Google Ads as an automated campaign type, eliminating manual cost-per-lead bidding.
What does this mean for your business? The levers are moving out of campaign settings and into what we feed the system. What counts as a conversion, how well your landing page converts, and whether real job outcomes make it back to the platform now matter more than any setting in the account. That is where our work has shifted, too.
