Kickoff Week wraps up with the man of a million faces, Doug Jones!

Doug Jones is one of the most accomplished and recognizable creature performers and character actors working today. Often described as this generation’s Lon Chaney & Boris Karloff, his career spans over 30 years across film, television and stage.
Fans will remember Doug for his work as The Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, as Abe Sapien in both Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and as the unforgettable dual roles of Pan and The Pale Man in Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning Pan’s Labyrinth. He learned all of his lines for the film in Spanish, working from a specially prepared bilingual script.
Doug teamed up with del Toro once more to bring an original story to life in the Academy Award-winning The Shape of Water. He also stars as the infamous Count Orlok in the remake of the classic Nosferatu.
On the small screen, Doug is beloved for his role as Captain Saru in Star Trek: Discovery and can be seen in What We Do in the Shadows. His earlier television work includes Falling Skies, Teen Wolf, Fear Itself, The Neighbours, and perhaps most iconically, the lead Gentleman in the Emmy-nominated “Hush” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Another fan favorite is the Halloween classic Hocus Pocus, in which Doug plays the lovable zombie Billy Butcherson, a role he reprised in Hocus Pocus 2. His earliest comic book appearance was alongside Danny DeVito as a circus clown in Batman Returns.
A feature-length documentary about Doug’s life and career, Get Me Doug Jones, is currently in production, directed by William Conlin and produced by Coolwaters Productions.

Laura Prepon is an American actress and television director. She rose to fame with her role as Donna Pinciotti in the Fox sitcom That '70s Show (1998–2006). She is also known for portraying Alex Vause in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019). Prepon made her film debut in 2001 with the independent drama Southlander. Her other films include the romantic drama Come Early Morning (2006), the comedy Lay the Favorite (2012), the thriller The Girl on the Train (2016), and the drama The Hero (2017).

Pamela Grier is an American actress, singer, and martial artist. She achieved fame for her starring roles in a string of 1970s action, blaxploitation and women-in-prison films for American International Pictures and New World Pictures. Her accolades include nominations for an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Satellite Award and a Saturn Award.

Grier came to prominence with her titular roles in the films Coffy (1973) and Foxy Brown (1974); her other major films during this period included The Big Doll House (1971), Women in Cages (1971), The Big Bird Cage (1972), Black Mama White Mama (1973), Scream Blacula Scream (1973), The Arena (1974), Sheba, Baby (1975), Bucktown (1975) and Friday Foster (1975). She also played alongside Richard Pryor as his character Wendell Scott’s wife in the film Greased Lightning (1977). She portrayed the title character in Tarantino's crime film Jackie Brown (1997), nearly three decades after her first starring role. Grier also appeared in Escape from L.A. (1996), Mars Attacks! (1996), Jawbreaker (1999), Holy Smoke! (1999), Snow Day (2000), Bones (2001), Just Wright (2010), Larry Crowne (2011) and Poms (2019).

On television, Grier portrayed Eleanor Winthrop in the Showtime comedy-drama series Linc's (1998–2000), Kate "Kit" Porter on the Showtime drama series The L Word (2004–2009), and Constance Terry in the ABC sitcom Bless This Mess (2019–2020). She received praise for her work in the animated series Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child (1999).

Kickoff Week rolls on and oh boy is it a doozy! We are thrilled to welcome the man of a million voices, and newly inducted Disney Legend, Alan Tudyk, to the April 16-18, 2027 Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo!

Alan Tudyk is an American actor. His film work includes roles in 28 Days (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and Trumbo (2015). He starred in the black comedy horror film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010).

Known for frequently appearing in science fiction, Tudyk's roles in the genre include Wash on the cult classic space Western drama series Firefly (2002–2003), which he reprised in the 2005 continuation film Serenity, the title role in the series Resident Alien (2021–2025), Dollhouse (2009–2010), and Eric Morden / Mr. Nobody on the series Doom Patrol (2019). He provided voice and motion capture for the robot Sonny in I, Robot (2004) and appeared in Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015).

Tudyk’s voice acting work include K-2SO in the film Rogue One (2016) and its prequel series Andor (2025), the superhero series Young Justice (2010–2013, 2019), Ludo in Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2015–2019), and Dangerboat in the series The Tick (2017–2019). Tudyk currently voices The Joker and Clayface in the series Harley Quinn. From 2022 to 2025, Tudyk voiced Optimus Prime in the animated series Transformers: EarthSpark. In 2024, he voiced Alex Sartorius / Doctor Phosphorus and returned as Clayface in Creature Commandos. In 2025, he voiced and provided motion capture for 4, AKA "Gary," in James Gunn's Superman. In video games he voiced Mickey in Halo 3: ODST (2009) as well as reprising his roles as K-2SO in Star Wars Battlefront (2015) and as the Green Arrow in the DC Comics video game series Injustice (2013, 2017) and has voiced characters in Walt Disney Animation Studios films since 2012.

It's here! It's finally here! Kickoff Week begins with the amazing and wonderful Jewel Staite!

As a Gemini Award nominated and Leo Award winning actress, Jewel Staite recently completed the third season of starring in EOne’s drama series “Family Law,” which is currently airing on The CW. She recently won a Leo Award for Best Lead Performance Female (DRAMATIC SERIES) for her work on this show. Best known for portraying ‘Kaylee’ in Joss Whedon’s cult classic Fox series “Firefly,” Jewel also starred in the feature film adaptation “Serenity,” which was released by Universal Pictures. More recently, Jewel filmed a lead Guest Star on NBC’s revival of “Quantum Leap,” as well as was seen on ABC’s hit series “The Good Doctor,” NBC's “Blindspot,” SyFy’s “The Magicians,” and The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow.” Prior to this, Jewel starred as ‘Caroline Swift’ on the hit AMC series “The Killing” opposite Joel Kinnaman. Other select television credits include starring on The CW series “LA Complex,” as well as SyFy’s hit series “Stargate: Atlantis.” On the feature side, Jewel was most recently seen as the lead in “How to Plan an O**y in a Small Town.“
