Many of you might not know the full story behind how "Hook’d IT Up" grew into the full-time digital marketing agency it is today, and I thought today was a fitting time to share.
Nearly 8 years ago, I moved to Heber City, without ever having visited Utah before. I worked a handful of full-time jobs to support my family, while running my business part-time. The last job was at Signarama, where I was working my way up to becoming a lead sign installer.
One morning, I walked into work when I was told to pack up my things and go home. I was confused, but before leaving, I asked Clay if there was anything I could have done differently or improve on. His response surprised me a bit: “It’s time for you to go out and start your own thing.” That was simply it.
To this day I don’t fully understand what he meant, but I’ve always believed that Clay saw something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. Maybe he saw the potential of a future entrepreneur, just like himself, having built his own legacy. Since that day, I’ve been running my own business full-time, and the momentum has only grown stronger.
As I reflect on this journey, I can’t help but feel deeply grateful for the people and community here in Heber Valley. It's a place that fosters connection, support, and the kind of growth that feels both humbling and empowering.
To Clay, Happy heavenly Birthday and thank you. And thank you to those of you who've welcomed and supported my business along the way. Here's to continuing to build together, and to making a difference in the community that welcomed me with open arms.
