Well that's something you don't see every day ... a giant root beer barrel that serves hot dogs and some of the best root beer floats I've ever had!

Located just off the beaten path in Douglas, MI on the east side of Lake Michigan.

I've visited a LOT of small towns in my travels - but I've never experienced anything like my time in Cassopolis, MI. What made it unique? I got a personal tour of the town, along with historical information, updates on their lakeside improvements, and so much more from Tonia from the village office. It was so amazing. I learned a lot and took a number of pictures that I'm excited to use in an upcoming tourism website for Cassopolis. Stay tuned!

☎️ Sometimes you just have to "call home" when you're out in the middle of nowhere of Eastern Montana ... or, in this case, at least appreciate some impressive art.

There's always something about sitting in an adirondak chair ... but I don't think I've ever sat in one THIS big before!

And that's just ONE thing that was so awesome about my trip to Beach, ND. While there was no sand or big waves, there was warm and friendly people, a great pottery store, museum, and of course - this big adirondak chair in the middle of a small town park in western North Dakota.

I see a lot of small county courthouses in my travels but this one in Rosebud, MT has to be one of my favorites.

Classic marble on the interior.
Beautiful rotunda on the 3rd floor.
Monuments around the square. .. and in this case, they even had a country troubadour singing. Classic.

I see a lot of small town museums in my travels. Few have been as impressive as the Museum of the Beartooths in Columbus, MT.

It felt like it was more than just pictures on the wall or artifacts behind glass. There were life-size exhibits, structures, cars, etc. I was quite impressed!

So the next time you're driving I-90 across Montana, stop in and take a quick tour (free - donations accepted).
