🫐 Some of my favorite memories of Barclay Mountain involve berry picking with my grandfather.

Barclay Mountain has long been a great place to find wild berries, and every summer we'd head up the mountain with buckets and spend time searching for them.

But the berries were only part of the adventure.

As we walked, my grandfather would tell stories about his days on the mountain, including his time with the **Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)**, the Ice Mine, and the people who once lived and worked here.

It seemed like every road, trail, and corner of the mountain had a story attached to it.

Looking back, those trips were about much more than berries. They were about spending time together and learning the history of a place from someone who actually lived it.

What's a story or lesson you learned from a grandparent that you'll never forget?

Have you ever been inside an octagon barn?

We were driving just south of Montrose in Susquehanna County when the Octagon Barn at Woodbourne caught our attention. Naturally, we had to turn around and investigate.

What we found was a beautifully renovated family barn that has been transformed into a unique wedding and event venue, complete with event space, a silo bar, bridal and groomsmen dressing rooms, catering space, patios, decks, and a peaceful pond view.

If you’re planning a wedding or special event, check them out on Facebook at the Octagon Barn at Woodbourne.

And if you want a wedding favor your guests will actually enjoy, contact Barclay Mountain for custom playing cards, coins, and keepsakes.

🎵 A while ago, one of our followers asked us to drive up Williams Hollow Road.

So we did.

Today, we're taking that drive again and sharing an original song inspired by the road and the beautiful scenery along the way.

Have you ever visited a town and suddenly found yourself thinking about someone you haven't seen in years?

Driving through Montrose brought back memories of one of my college friends, Erin Holbrook. I still remember the day we met in the photography lab—back when we actually developed film and waited to see if our pictures turned out. She was wearing a green camouflage jacket and quickly became one of the nicest people I'd ever met.

It's funny. We often remember the first time we meet someone, but remembering the last time can be much harder. Sometimes you don't even realize it's the last time until years later.

Maybe that's a reminder to reach out to old friends, stay connected, and appreciate the people who help shape our lives.

You never know which ordinary day will become a cherished memory someday.

Have you ever turned around just because something caught your eye?

That's exactly what happened to us in Wyoming County. What looked like it might be a souvenir shop or family market turned out to be a hidden gem tucked away in Pennsylvania's Endless Mountains.

Sometimes the best discoveries aren't on your itinerary—they're waiting at the end of a U-turn.

Have you ever found an amazing place completely by accident?

🎵 Every small town has a story, and Galeton is no exception.

This original song was inspired by the history, people, and traditions of Galeton, Pennsylvania—a community shaped by the lumber industry, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, and known by many for its Fourth of July celebration.

I've heard from a lot of people over the years that Galeton puts on one of the best fireworks displays in the region, making it a place where families and friends gather to celebrate summer and small-town America.

As you watch this video, take a drive through Galeton and enjoy this original tribute to one of Potter County's most beloved communities.

Have you ever been to Galeton for the Fourth of July?

Or what's your favorite fireworks display in Pennsylvania?

🏛️ Did you know the Wellsboro Historic District contains more than **500 historic buildings**?

Dating from the 1830s through the 1950s, these structures help make Wellsboro one of Pennsylvania's most charming and recognizable small towns.

Landmarks like the Penn Wells Hotel, Green Free Library, Arcadia Theatre, and the Tioga County Courthouse all contribute to the town's unique character.

Add in the famous gas lights lining Main Street, and it's easy to see why so many people fall in love with Wellsboro.

It's not just a historic town.

It's a town where history is still part of everyday life.

If you could spend a weekend in any historic Pennsylvania town, where would you go?

Have you ever been equally terrified and fascinated at the same time?

That's the feeling we get every time we attend a rattlesnake roundup.

This weekend we visited the Morris Rattlesnake Round-Up in Tioga County, and while the snakes may be the main attraction, there's so much more to see. From local honey, maple syrup, cheese, crafts, and flea market finds to chicken BBQ, funnel cakes, softball tournaments, and live entertainment, this event is a true celebration of small-town Pennsylvania.

Events like this remind us why we love exploring the Pennsylvania Wilds. They're unique, community-driven, and filled with local traditions you won't find anywhere else.
