I usually rough sketch with pencil and ink before moving forward with paint. At this stage, it is about placement and the overall composition. The figure's positioning is based on the seated angel in Durer's "Melancholia" - a personal favorite of his work.

Now that the Banned and Censored show is up, the completion of my art pieces for ArtPrize is the next priority. Plus, running the gallery and our monthly events at the shop, preparing for ArtPrize at the shop, going to markets with Monstorium and Merchants and Makers, getting the group show together (Seasons and Patterns) at Cocoon Art Space, and the list goes on.

Censorship. Part of the Banned and Censored show arriving at this Friday at 6pm. There are a dozen pieces and some vinyl art toys as well as several banned and censored books from over the years.
