HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY seeing one of my favorite patterns available at Cabin Fever! Start making and get friends! This is a fun and happy art quilt to get warn and cozy with 🧵🪡✂️

We caught a serious case mushing fever during the Iditarod ceremonial start yesterday on 4th Avenue in downtown Anchorage.

If you’ve got mushing fever too, we have a project that might be right for you.

This "Happy Husky" pattern was designed by Alaskan Cindy Shake, who makes Girdwood home. It's a great little project for a husky lover in your family.

Measuring just 14" x 14" you can probably finish it before the winner crosses the finish line in Nome.

Patterns are the driving force of making.

Patterns are the driving force of making. We all fall in love with the beautiful photos of the designs, and our itch to make that cool new thing begins. Yarn companies produce yarn, fabric companies produce fabric, but after the makers buy the materials, they then need patterns to transform those stashes of wonderful fiber and textiles into finished items they treasure and gift to others.

Without patterns, there is no substance in the crafting industry. Yet creating those instructions for handmaking is a serious challenge.

Designed for the Littles (and bigs!) by Cindy Shake the Let's Go Fishing on the River Spoonflower fabric activity panel!
Available in fat quarter or full yard panel sizes (you choose the fabric!) and is printed with cut & sew salmon, river, trees and even fishing lures in the "water!" How fun is this?!
1. Cut, stuff and assemble fish
2.Trim river, add backing, binding or desired embellishments
3. Tie string to stick or dowel, select choice of fasteners for fish and end of string (magnets, paper clips, hook & loop/velcro, etc. for safety other age appropriate items may be used)
3. Toss fish in the river & go FISHING!
4. Roll up for another day on the river
We used both Petal Signature Cotton and a soft and cozy flannel for backing. Get crafty and add a quilt style border to the river panel or how about even SEQUINS on the fish?! Ooooo la-la! Here fishy, fishy!

Thought I'd share my Birch Tree fabric designs! I wanted to sew Birch "logs" for our cabin and designed a repeat of the birch tree bark pattern. I also designed some tree "slabs or end cuts" for the ends of my plushie "logs" as fat quarters. I've added the fabric to my Spoonflower shop for others who may want to sew Birch Tree Log plushies for play camp fires as soft toys, bolsters, cabin pillows or even pet toys! The 27x18 FQ is sized to use on Eco Canvas and the 27x18 FQ for Petal Cotton. Enjoy! https://www.spoonflower.com/collections/560314-birch-tree-by-crowcreekcool?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAYnJpZBExUmltcnVJMVhIMjNyS2REcnNydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR5_IxHb-fRGXDSSuaCj0aRvHz9RvRKCM5iH9qoF3nfJMI_9TOAWJopooixHlQ_aem_W99U3zKFdGDWcjcELf7P7w
