once you learn triadic colors, fall starts looking like one giant palette 🎃 pumpkins with purple kale, green gourds on the porch, the whole produce aisle.

and notice how the pumpkin always steals the show? that’s the hero rule in action. where have you spotted this trio, y’all?

99 Days, 99 Bottles - weekend edition part 2

These were fun! Both have their own vibe - elegant & clean vs. gritty & loose - but still feel very much like my style. (I’m a little too versatile, I think 😅)

Day 90 - perfume bottle
Day 89 - message in a bottle

logo decisions people never ask about, but I think about constantly: why a wordmark, why a carrot. 🥕 (spoiler: neither was random)

y’all I did not clock this until after the fact: I designed a shirt for a client’s husband’s ‘favorite shirt’ redo — no big deal, right? turns out the husband was the lead singer of Cowboy Mouth, and I found out the same way you’re finding out now.

that tee turned into 6 years of album covers, singles, and a vinyl LP release.

moral of the story: the referral came from trust, not from a resume. you don’t have to be the biggest name — you just have to be somebody’s fav.

at SCR, a workshop instructor said “swipe three fingers on the canvas and hit copy all.” easy enough — unless three-finger swipes aren’t something your hands can do. which, for me, they’re not.

I’ve built workarounds for almost every gesture-specific command in Procreate over the years. this was the first one I hadn’t run into yet. so instead of just quietly figuring it out and moving on, figured I’d share what actually helps:

🟣 a silicone sleeve for the Apple Pencil, for better grip
💫 adjusting the pressure curve (takes some personal trial and error, but worth it)
👆️ turning on Single Touch Gesture Companion to cut down on multi-finger requirements
⭐️ customizing your Quick Menu and gesture controls so the commands you actually use are one tap away instead of a specific swipe

none of this makes Procreate fully accessible out of the box. but it makes it workable. if you’ve got limited or no hand dexterity and you’ve been quietly working around the app instead of with it — you’re not alone, and I’d love to hear what’s worked for you too.♿️

I’ve been quiet about AI and design… Not because I don’t have opinions-I have a lot of them-but because the conversation has been nonstop and honestly pretty noisy.

So here’s where I actually land: and I can generate a logo in seconds ✅ but generating isn’t design. Design is strategy, problem-solving and communication! It’s knowing what a brand needs to say to its audience before touching a single tool, and it’s working with the client to figure out what they want exactly.

Sure, you can give an AI a vague prompt and generate a logo, but that logo is just going to be as vague and generic as the prompt. Every single time.

That’s why human-made still wins, and always will. Not because it’s more beautiful-though it is-but because there’s a real person behind it who listened, pushed back, and actually built a full identity package from the strategy up.
