This week marks the 15th birthday of our woman-owned, sister-run company! 🥳

In March 2008, the three of us Blust girls (Jessica, Vanessa, & Christina) officially registered our family business as an LLC, bringing Blustery Day Design to life.

Now just two of us, we are so proud of the business we have built and the shared legacy we carry forward. We’ve grown from the early days, where BDD was a nights-and-weekends venture, to a full-time “day job” full of client meetings, comprehensive website builds, consulting projects, speaking engagements and countless Zoom calls. We have built a company and a vision that enables us to bring all of our best traits to our work: our creativity, our smarts, our systems-thinking minds, our love of learning & educating, and our deep commitment to empathy, authenticity & justice.

These days, we’re a Fort Thomas/Northern Kentucky company with clients all over the country. Much of our project work is medium- to large-scale website projects for nonprofits and community organizations who need our unique combination of website content strategy, visual identity work & brand extensions, web design and development. We build clear, intentional, usable sites that these organizations can utilize effectively and continue to grow with. We take what may feel messy and complicated for our clients and corral it with simple, functional, creative, beautiful solutions.

We are especially proud that clients also seek us out for our unique capacity to work with people & organizations existing in the hard places — the sad places, the challenging places, the human places. We’ve built numerous websites for organizations on the front lines of social issues we care about. We’ve designed a large-scale exhibit for a Holocaust museum. Many of the clients we work with are navigating complex circumstances and unprecedented change & challenges. We have intentionally built the kind of company that is positioned to do the work of championing their humanity, uplifting their mission, and completing projects that enable their ways forward.

Thank you to all of our clients (past and present) and all those who have put your trust in us for your important projects and life events. We're so grateful to do work that lets us elevate good people doing good things.

Thank you to our family, friends and supporters who have cheered us along on our business journey and shared our company with their network. We know that, with your support, we’ll continue to grow and have an impact on our community & the world. And we’ll keep carrying Vanessa’s spirit with us in everything Blustery Day Design does.

Happy birthday, BDD.

We're looking forward to presenting two sessions at the CWR international conference this fall.

The women in these congregations are doing such important work in areas of social justice, immigration, nonviolence, and environmental issues. It's rewarding to share our expertise with them and know it will help them continue their efforts for good.

If you are (or know) someone working in communications for a congregation, we'd love to see you there! 💛

comes to Memphis Oct. 5-8. Our diverse lineup of workshops will feature two presentations by Christina Blust and Jessica Yaeger of Blustery Day Design (https://buff.ly/3BlL5Ho):

Here's to everyone doing what they can.

"Here is what I reject: scoffing at people trying to do what they can, making whatever small gesture they can imagine or conceive of, however incomplete, to make a more just world.

Cynicism is tedious."

Blustery Day Design is a teenager! On this day in 2008, the three of us Blust girls (Jessica, Vanessa, & Christina) officially registered our sister-business as an LLC.

The past 13 years have been filled with so many successes, challenges, changes, and life experiences. Thank you to all of our clients (past and present) and all those who have put your trust in us for your important projects and life events. We're so grateful to do work that lets us elevate good people doing good things.

And so we march on! We look forward to bringing our skills and smarts to new clients and expanded opportunities. Along the way, we miss Vanessa every day. We bring her spirit with us in everything Blustery Day Design does. 💛
