Everything is going interest based, and people are not interested in being sold.

They want to be educated. They want to be entertained. And occasionally they want to click something and find out how they can get more from you.

Scroll your own feed and you will see it. You are not seeing many of your friends. You are probably not even seeing businesses you follow. You are seeing groups and interest based content that the algorithm feeds you based on what you interact with and spend the most time on.

Social media has been dubbed interest media, and it is worth looking up. The algorithm thinks it knows what you like, so it shows it to you.

Which means your clients may never appear interested in your business, because your business is posting things that are not aligned with it, or for lack of a better word, salesy.

People want to buy from you. They do not want you to sell to them.

I found the same thing selling in person. Beard products and granola at the markets. Even face to face, people do not want to be sold to. They want to buy, and they want it to be their decision.

So how do you make it their decision? You give them the information they need. Like I am doing now.

I am not telling you to hire Dino Gnome and listing off reasons. Truthfully, you probably should not hire me. You can probably do all of this yourself.

Two tables at a market, same product, same price.

The first one asks what you are looking for today and starts working you toward a yes. You buy nothing and you leave a little faster than you meant to.

The second one hands you a sample and tells you the difference between the two blends, and then goes back to what they were doing. You stand there for a minute. You buy both.

Nothing about the product changed. The first table took the decision away from you and the second one handed it over. Your feed is doing one of those two things right now.

Most content fails because it only speaks to people who are already ready to buy.

Almost nobody is. They are somewhere earlier, feeling like something is not working and not yet sure what. Content aimed at the last step walks past all of them.

So we build across the whole run. Most of it just makes the person feel seen. Some of it explains what is actually happening. Some shows what changes. Only a small slice ever talks about working together, and it lands because everything before it earned the right.

They decide on their own. That was always the only way it works.

Here is the test that settles it.

If the tool disappeared tomorrow, would the thing you are selling still exist. If your answer is yes and you would just be slower, you are using it correctly. If the answer is that you would have nothing to say, something got outsourced that should not have been.

Clients are not paying for output. They are paying for the judgment of a specific person who has done this long enough to know which of the obvious answers is wrong.

That judgment cannot be generated and it does not scale. It is the whole product.

Most people using AI have never actually drawn the line. They just use it until something feels wrong and stop there, and the feeling moves depending on how busy the week is.

A line you have said out loud behaves differently. It holds on the Thursday you are behind.

Ours is written down. Automation, sorting, and captions built from real words are in. Ideas, graphics, and anything presented as your thinking that was not are out.

You do not have to use ours. But you should have one you could read to a client without flinching.

Worth deciding now rather than in the moment.

There is an answer you can say out loud without hedging, and there is an answer you would rather not be asked. Most people using AI heavily are sitting on the second one and hoping it does not come up.

Ours is straightforward. AI runs the automation, drafts captions from words Reggie actually said, and helps sort hours of material. It does not think for us, it does not make the graphics, and it never has the idea.

That means the answer to a client asking is yes, that came from me. No caveat.

What would you say

AI is a wonderful tool. I use it often. But I use it as a tool, not as a creator.

When you use it to do things, analyze things, and ideate, it is not creating. You are still the brain. You are still the human person your clients are ultimately paying to interact with.

Here is where it sits in my week. It runs the automation. It makes sure the transcript is accurate for what was actually said. It generates my captions, and I will own that fully.

I do not have AI create the video. We will never have AI create the graphics. I will not have it come up with the ideas of what I am actually saying.

I will let it write a caption based on what I said, with specific instructions. The prompting is the key part.

AI is going to be more and more prevalent, and if you are not using it as a tool, if you are using it to create, you are already behind.

I was behind. I only started using it properly as a tool this year.

There is a version of using AI that keeps your work yours and a version that quietly gives it away.

Asking it to sort two hours of transcript and flag every place you talked about pricing is the first kind. So is having it draft a caption from words you already said. So is letting it handle the posting schedule at nine on a Tuesday.

Asking it what you should think about your industry this week is the second kind. So is asking it to write a post about your expertise, in your voice, from nothing.

The line is not how much you use it. It is whether the thinking started with you.

We use AI every day and we are specific about where.

It runs the automation and the routing. It drafts captions from your transcript on prompts we wrote. It sorts, tags, and finds things across hours of material faster than a person can.

It does not decide what you think. It does not make the graphics, because Tab does that from templates she designed. And it never generates an idea that then gets attributed to you.

The test we hold to is simple. If a client of yours asked whether that came from you, the answer has to be yes without a caveat.

Your followers are not an audience anymore. They are a suggestion.

The feed stopped being a list of people someone chose to follow and became a guess about what will hold their attention today. Which means the person who followed you two years ago may not have seen you since, and that is not their decision.

What gets shown is what people stop for. Not what they were sold, and not what looked most professional.

So the work is no longer collecting followers. It is being interesting enough, often enough, that the algorithm keeps deciding you are worth someone's next eleven seconds.

When did you last see a post from someone you actually follow
