Here's a sample of a basic ransomware that I took off a clients laptop this weekend. She clicked the link on a harmless looking email, which led to the hacker remoting into her computer, locking her out, changing the password AND calling her over and over demanding money.
Never give in, and pay $ to a hacker. For a pro it’s simple to change the password and safely remove the ransomeware.
Be cautious clicking on ANY links from emails, even from trusted sources.
