Keeping it simple 🖤

This lanyard was made to go with a knife that Buck carries, using a mostly black palette with a few subtle gray details woven throughout. I wanted to keep the overall look understated while still giving the different knots and cords a little room to stand out from one another.
🖤 Black is seen in both the top loop as 95 paracord and majority of the following knots in 550 paracord. The thinner 95 cord keeps the attachment point slim and simple.
🌌 Dark Night is a patterned black cord with a speckled look and subtle dark gray details. It adds a little variation without straying from the darker palette.
🤏🏻 Touch of Grey finishes the lower section with another patterned cord featuring thin lines of gray running through its length, adding another layer of texture against the solid black.

Measurements:
≫ 4¹/₄” total length
≫ 2¹/₂” length of loop alone
≫ 1³/₄” knotted structure alone
≫ ³/₄” max width

This one is a good reminder that “black” doesn’t have to be completely monochrome. A couple of different patterns and just a hint of gray can add plenty of detail without changing the overall feel.

Different personalities 🦉

I wanted to play around with two pretty different color combinations for these Macramé Owl Keychains but also keeping them really earthy. One leans into those darker woodland colors, while the other brings a whole lot more red-orange into the mix.
♥️ Maroon brings a deep reddish-purple tone to both owls, but it looks a little different in each combination. On the left, it blends in with the darker Woodland cord, while on the right it gives Molten Orange a greater contrast to play against.
🪵 Woodland is a darker camo cord with a mix of olive and emerald greens, brown, and black. It gives the left owl that earthy, outdoorsy look, with a bit of warmth from Maroon.
🔥 Molten Orange is the brighter cord on the right owl, with a bold color shift between red and orange hues.
I incorporated black açaí beads for the eyes - black on the left for a little blending in and brown on the right for that warm contrast.
Both are finished with black plated O-rings at the top instead of traditional keyrings.

𓅓 ~2 ⁷/₈” max length of tail ends

A little owl for a returning customer 🫶🏻

This Macramé Owl Keychain was a custom piece made for Allison. This time, we went with a more earthy combination, and I think it fits this little owl really well.
🪵 Ground War is a brown camo-like cord that does most of the heavy lifting throughout the owl. It outlines the face and body, giving it that darker, woodland-inspired look.
🫒 Olive Drab adds a little more green around the face and into the tail feathers, while also showing up again in the lava beads used for the eyes.
🏖️ Sand brings in a lighter tan to break up some of the darker colors and keeps the overall combination from getting too heavy.
Finished with a black plated O-ring at the top, this little owl is ready to hang out wherever Allison decides to put him.

There’s something pretty fun about making a second piece for someone who has already trusted you with their first. It means a lot when someone likes what you made enough to come back for another. 🥹
