Although this page has photos that span several decades, the emphasis is on whatever I've shot most recently. My subjects include people, pets, sports, and nature. Lately I've been shooting a lot of musicians, from local bands to well known names. Please take a moment to scroll through the timeline and feel free to comment on whatever strikes your fancy. As you can see, I really prefer shooting when it's cloudy and the lighting is softer, but I especially like shooting 'cross when it's muddy!

Photos of the October 11 Sacramento Cyclocross races in Orangevale are now on my website. Over 1200 of them made the final cut. You're going to want to view these on a computer screen rather than a cell phone, trust me. But if all you have is that little communication device in your hand, then it will work. Sort of. But good luck scrolling through 1200 photos on that little screen. They are all in chronological order, so I hope that helps. If you'd like to help a photographer out and encourage my attendance at future events, then purchases of prints, digital downloads, or other goodies are very much appreciated. Otherwise, you're welcome to just browse the gallery as the photos there will display in a better resolution that what is on Facebook. The watermarks that you see on the images here and on the website do not appear on any purchased photos.

Here's another sampling of some of my photos from yesterday's Sacramento Cyclocross event in Orangevale. I took over 2500 shots and am still working through the editing process. My wife and I just got back from three weeks in England, which started with a week in London. The last city we visited was Bath and here are some photos from that location. As photographers, we love to have visually charming scenes, but the reality is that cities often have trash, road construction, and other elements that detract from their beauty. I tried to include a few of those shots as well, since I get tired of trying to deny that reality when I'm out shooting. Bath was a charming, beautiful town in many ways, but also full of tourists (like myself) and commercialism. That's the nature of traveling in populated places. Many of these shots were taken very early in the morning before the crowds hit the streets.

Shot a few bees on the sunflowers in the back yard this evening. Lots of pollen for them to collect. Some of these are duplicates, with one cropped in tighter than the other in order to give you a better look at the bee.
