I just wanted to share what I’ve been working on lately.
First things first - I’m aware of the vacuum issues that have cropped up on the V4 and V5 sensors. This isn’t something widespread and appears to happen when certain conditions are met.
I plan to make a few changes and allow the sensors to “breathe” - currently waiting on samples to arrive.
I’ve also been working on a sensor enclosure with 1wp. Many of you may have heard or seen my rant on the FSR sandwich which is when you stick an FSR directly between two surfaces of different materials.
I’ll drop a video in the comments where I had a test board known to ghost in the winter sit outside in the cold. The temperature resulted in the grip contracting at a different rate than the pad which resulted in the sensor becoming engaged.
This is where the sensor enclosure comes in. Its purpose is to keep the sensor free floating within the enclosure allowing it and materials around it to expand/contract freely so that temperature related sensor engagement issues are significantly reduced.
How much are we selling these for? I’ll be throwing them in to all sensor orders for free once I get these dialed in. Thanks to 1wp, we were able to figure out how to get these made in such a way that won’t break the bank
As an extra bonus - the grip is no longer attached to the sensor which means you can do grip changes without harming the sensor 😎
