Throwback Thursday Memory:

In 2018, I doubted myself in my Drawing I class after being assigned to transform a character into a Day of the Dead-inspired piece of artwork. I chose Winnie the Pooh, but I honestly didn’t think my work would be accepted into our college art gallery.

Needless to say, it was.

I’m so grateful my instructor pushed me to trust my gifts, skills, and ability to draw, and encouraged me to begin the submission process. I truly couldn’t believe it. Taking that leap of faith allowed me to experience seeing my artwork displayed among so many talented artists, and it remains such a special moment in my journey.

In 2018, I earned a spot on the President’s List at Lone Star College-CyFair for maintaining a high GPA and achieving academic excellence during the semester.

As a transfer student navigating college, creativity, and life all at once, this accomplishment meant so much to me. It reminded me that discipline, consistency, and hard work truly pay off. Looking back at moments like this makes me proud of how far I’ve come in my journey. 📚
