Can you really get both a robe and a reception dress out of one wedding gown?

If you had a long train, the answer is usually yes. 🤍

For this 90s gown, we created a finished robe and mapped out ideas for a reception mini dress. When there are multiple children, it’s hard to predict what each one may want someday. That’s why during our consultation we talk through future hopes for the dress and plan our cuts intentionally and conservatively.

How would you design this mini dress?

She wore it first. Now they wear it together. 🤍

We turned mom’s 2002 COLORFUL wedding dress into the sweetest mother-daughter matching set. 🤍 Daughter’s robe was made entirely from the original gown, and we used supplemental material to create coordinating something-blue camisoles and a robe for mom that she can continue wearing for years to come.

We finished it off with an adjustable bouquet wrap so she could carry the dress down the aisle, and a clutch for mom to complete the look.

If you’ve had one of these in your closet for 30 years… we should talk. 🤍

Those classic 90s preservation boxes have been sitting quietly long enough. Maybe it’s time to crack that baby open and see what she’s ready to become.

A robe or rehearsal dinner dress for your daughter. Christening or first communion outfits. Keepsake treasures to pass down for generations.

And if you happen to find a little yellowing when you peek inside, we also offer restoration cleaning before any remake begins, if that’s the best option for your dress.

Let’s let her tell a new story now. ✨

DIY bride, this one’s for you 🤍

Hidden in this bouquet is a creative way to reuse mom’s 90s hairpiece. You know those beaded flower crowns and headpieces that the big, poofy veils were attached to? Remove a few of the flowers and turn them into a bouquet pick to tuck into your own bouquet on your wedding day.

It’s a subtle but meaningful way to carry a piece of your mom’s wedding look down the aisle, and it can easily be added to your bouquet the morning of the wedding.

I cut up a perfectly good wedding dress. 🤷‍♀️

And I’d do it again!

She loved her gown. It just never fit the way it should have, and that left her with mixed emotions every time she looked at it. So we reclaimed her love for it!

After a thorough cleaning by , we transformed her 2025 wedding dress into a robe and camisole set she can wear and love for years to come. We kept her favorite details, the lace, the buttons, the blush liner, and reimagined them into something that finally feels like her.

When her new hubby saw the set, he immediately recognized it was HER dress. And the handwritten love note surprise? That earned a solid 15 minutes of happy tears. She saw his chicken scratch handwriting, their little saying, and instantly knew he had been in on it. 🤍

If you have a gown, old or new, sitting in your closet that deserves a second chapter, let’s talk about what it could become!

And this is why we said yes. 🤍

What began as a last-minute surprise from mom turned into one of the sweetest wedding morning moments. Seeing her in the robe, knowing it once belonged to another chapter of their family story, is something I will never get tired of.

These heirloom pieces are beautiful in photos, but even more meaningful in the quiet moments before walking down the aisle.

To the moms quietly planning something special behind the scenes… you are the real magic. ✨

Last minute miracle.

We typically recommend starting your gown transformation at least 3 to 4 months before you need it. And in reality, our calendar often books out even further than that.

But sometimes… when the stars align, we can make room for something truly special.

This mom found us just one month before her daughter’s wedding. She had fallen in love with what we do and wanted to surprise her with something meaningful. The timeline was tight, and we were very mindful of the projects already on our roster, but everything aligned.

If you’re planning a 2026 wedding and dreaming of transforming a gown into heirloom keepsakes, start the conversation early. The more time we have, the more magic we can create.

Have you given any thought to what will be wrapped around your flowers on your wedding day?

Most florists finish bouquets with a ribbon of choice, but a custom bouquet wrap gives you the opportunity to add something far more meaningful.

Our signature adjustable bouquet wraps are a beautiful way to incorporate mom’s wedding dress into your big day. They are a subtle nod to family without competing with your overall wedding look. Or we can create one from the alteration scraps of your own gown to begin a new heirloom tradition.

Designed with our adjustable corset-style system, they fit any bouquet size while fully covering the stems and holding their structure throughout the day so there’s no bunching or sliding as you handle your flowers.

Customization options are endless. We can use bridesmaid dress scraps for the lacing, add embroidered handwritten love notes inside or out, or incorporate sentimental lockets, charms, or rosaries for an extra layer of meaning.

After the wedding, your bouquet wrap can be hand cleaned and preserved alongside your gown, ready for the next generation to carry that love story down the aisle once more.

From one wedding day to the next 🤍

This gorgeous bride wore her mom’s wedding dress, lovingly remade into a getting ready robe, custom veil, and bouquet wrap for her own celebration.

One of our favorite details is the mesh back of the robe, which features the original back of the dress, buttons and all! It’s such a beautiful way to preserve the character of the gown while giving it a new silhouette.

We made 2 veils - a cathedral length and a shorty for partying. Both were satin edged with fabric from her mom’s dress for a subtle, meaningful nod from one love story to the next.

There is something so special about seeing these heirloom pieces come full circle on a wedding day!

I’ve noticed that as wedding dresses move more into the early 2000s, we often have less material to work with compared to the full, fabric-heavy gowns of the 90s.

That creates a different kind of design challenge when reimagining these dresses for today’s brides. But sometimes, those limitations lead to the sweetest details. In this case, a soft flounce hem became a subtle nod to the original skirt, keeping the spirit of the dress while giving it new life.

Designing within the constraints of each gown is part of what makes every transformation so unique.

My favorite part! ✂️ chop chop!

The other day one of our seamstresses commented “Way too often I’ll look over and you’re just chopping off a wedding dress at the knees like it’s a totally normal thing to do!” She’s not wrong, totally normal in my world!

We have quite a few gown redesigns like this for local brides this spring season, and it’s been about a 50/50 split on cutting short into a flirty skirt vs taking out the volume and doing a long sheath style skirt. Both are beautiful and we love customizing the final looks with our brides!
