This study was an assignment, a white subject on white background painted alla prima, or all in one sitting with oil paints. It was a lot of fun to paint although alla prima painting can be challenging. I particularly enjoyed including the pastel prism-like colors which I've been wanting to incorporate into my paintings for a while.

This is a sweet embryo commission I made months ago but am now able to share. The moon in the center is the buyers' daughter, and each little embryo star surrounding her represents losses the couple wanted to memorialize. The slightly larger planet was an early miscarriage. This is such a meaningful piece of art and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to create it as a gift for the spouse of my buyer. 🥰❤️

I'm back from Italy and my Etsy and Amazon shops are now reopened! My hours will be more limited this summer as I've got my kiddos home with me, but I'll be accepting digital orders again with a 1 week turn around time.
