Retro Rock Cafe fans and lovers,
It is with a heavy heart that the Brew Crew must share the news of Retro Rock's closing.
As many of you know, the fall of 2015 was rough for us. The state's construction impeded our business for months, blocking the parking lot and essentially forcing us to close our doors. To this day, the state has yet to acknowledge their hand in our closing, and despite many attempts to regain some recompense for the lost business, the state of CT continues to sweep our issue aside. Their inability to take responsibility for their actions, which hindered a once thriving small business, has left Retro's owner, Howie, deep in debt. After using his life's savings to reopen Retro, the legal fees that remain have eaten away at his finances.
Although all of you have supported us in so many ways, Howie can no longer keep Retro Rock open.
As of Dec. 31st, Retro Rock Cafe has officially closed its doors for good.
We wish to thank all of you who stopped in every day, who held your community meetings at our location, who sang at karaoke nights, who decorated our walls with your art, who shared your talent during open mic nights, and who called Retro Rock a "Home, sweet home". A special thank you goes out to the Brew Crew staff who stuck with Howie and Retro through thick and thin, and also to those loyal customers who were willing to hop behind the bar when things got busy- Your continued support and patronage has meant more to Howie and the Brew Crew that you can ever begin to imagine.
Again, thank you for everything and we wish you a healthy, prosperous, and rocking New Year.
