If you get a phone call from a financial institution such as a bank, credit card company, or a financial advisor, be careful, even if the name and phone number matches a recognized caller. Unless you know the person at the other end of the call, it may be a scam, especially if they claim to have the fraud department or FBI or some random cybersecurity support person on the phone. Hang up, and call the financial institution directly from the phone number on your card or statement. Do not Google for the number because you're frazzled and panicked, and you may end up calling a different bad guy trying to correct the first mistake.

I just had another customer call me in a panic because she got a phone call and she divulged too much information to the wrong person and had to run to her bank to make sure that she didn't compromise her financial information.

Usually, this is not connect to a virus/malware or similar; it is simply social trickery.

I have a client that is looking for an old CRT monitor that they can incorporate into a funeral piece. They are gonna take it apart, so if you’re trying to get rid of one, they would love to have it.

If you have a UPS / Battery Backup, at some point, it will go bad. The batteries inside don't last forever. If the units start beeping, hold down the on/off button for 5 seconds and let go. It will turn off the device and usually stop the beeping. At that point, you will need to replace the battery inside or get a new unit. Some models, like those from Cyberpower, don't make it user-replaceable. APC's batteries can be removed and replaced, but a lot of the time it's easier to get a new unit (or decide you don't need a UPS that alerts you at 6AM that it's end-of-life.

Do you know that pressing the on/off or "power" button on a computer usually only puts it to sleep, a low power mode. To shut down a Windows computer, click on the Windows icon on the bottom left of icons on the bottom of the screen, click the circle with the line originating from the center up north, and choose "Shut Down".
