✨ Project Complete ✨

What started as a set of failing steps has been transformed into a custom cedar entry and outdoor living feature that completely changes the look and feel of this backyard.

This project included:

✔ Custom cedar pergola
✔ New cedar deck and staircase
✔ Custom rail system
✔ Decorative post and trim details
✔ Full cedar construction throughout

The pergola now creates beautiful shade patterns throughout the day while maintaining an open, airy feel. The new deck, stairs, and railings provide a welcoming transition from the home to the outdoor space, turning what was once a simple set of steps into a true focal point of the property.

From the structural framing to the finish details, every piece was built to create a space that is both functional and built to last.

🔨 Day 7 Progress Update

The project continues moving from framing into finish work.

This week we completed the cedar decking, built the custom staircase, added post base trim details, and began installing the rail system.

Today’s work focused on refining the details that bring everything together:

✅ Custom cedar stair assembly
✅ Decorative stair skirting
✅ Post base trim installation
✅ Cedar railing construction
✅ Additional deck and finish details

The pergola is now creating the shade pattern it was designed for, while the deck and staircase are beginning to define how the space will function and feel once complete.

There’s still work ahead, but each day adds another layer of detail and moves the project closer to the finished vision.

🔨 Day 6 of This Deck & Pergola Transformation

This project is entering the finish-work stage, and the details are starting to bring everything together.

Today’s progress included:

✅ Completing the cedar pergola shade slats across the full structure
✅ Building and installing the custom cedar staircase
✅ Fabricating decorative cedar knee braces and architectural details
✅ Fine-tuning trim, alignment, and finishing touches throughout the project
✅ Continuing the transformation of this outdoor living space

One of the standout features is the pergola canopy. With every cedar slat installed, the structure takes on a completely different look—creating filtered sunlight, added depth, and the custom appearance the homeowners envisioned.

The staircase is also taking shape, tying the elevated deck into the surrounding patio and making the space feel complete.

From the first day of demolition to now, this backyard has undergone a dramatic transformation. What was once an aging deck is becoming a custom cedar outdoor retreat built to be enjoyed for years to come.

We’re in the home stretch now.

🔨 Day 5 of This Deck & Pergola Transformation

The pergola is starting to show its finished character.

After installing the primary beams and rafters, today’s focus was on the cedar shade structure that will define the look and feel of this outdoor living space.

Today’s progress included:

✅ Installing cedar shade slats across the pergola
✅ Completing additional pergola framing details
✅ Fine-tuning spacing and alignment throughout the structure
✅ Continuing work on the custom cedar deck and pergola system

The cedar slats completely change the appearance of the project. They add depth, architectural detail, and filtered shade while still keeping the space open and inviting.

What began as an aging multi-level deck is quickly becoming a custom outdoor living area designed for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the backyard.

We’re getting closer to the finish line, and the transformation has been incredible to watch.

🔨 Day 4 of This Deck & Pergola Transformation

This project took a big step forward today.

With the cedar decking underway, our focus shifted to building out the pergola structure that will frame the entire outdoor living space.

Today’s progress included:

✅ Installing the cedar pergola beams
✅ Beginning pergola rafters
✅ Completing additional structural framing
✅ Fine-tuning layout and alignment

The scale of the project is finally becoming visible. What started as a blank concrete patio just a few days ago is now taking on the shape of a custom cedar deck and pergola designed specifically for this home.

The decorative rafter tails and exposed cedar structure are beginning to bring the design to life, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going.
