The Curriculum: The “ART” of Learning About Computers is a self-paced, integrated curriculum designed to teach pre-school and primary students about the basic parts and functions of a computer system. The Storybook: (LaRhonda Visits Mr. CPU’s House) - Cover designed and illustrated by Torin Jessie. - The st

orybook follows the curriculum page by page. Students will develop good reading and listening habits as they focus on each lesson and every colorful character as they are brought to life in Computer Land. This textbook is designed for beginning readers and also provides for coloring activities. The Story/Coloring Book - The story/coloring book provides on-going activities which correspond with the curriculum and storybook. Students are encouraged to color neatly and within the lines. It not only provides hands-on activities, but helps students to develop motor skills, increase visual perception, and reading readiness skills. The Play - The play is a culmination of all that the children have learned. Each colorful characters comes to life as LaRhonda and her friends begin their journey through Computer Land. It is a fun time for students, family, and faculty.

What is your favorite part of being an educator?
When I get an opportunity to effect positive change in how my students learn, view life, and see themselves as viable community contributors. Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience.
I wrote "The 'ART' of Learning About Computers" curriculum for PreK4-8th grade. My most memorable teaching experience was when I was standing in the hallway and a PreK4 student interrupted my conversation with another teacher, looked up at me, and promptly began to sing the Mr. CPU song that had been taught to the class the previous day. Upon completion of the song, she smiled and left! LOL!!! The same reaction would be met with the keyboarding drill taught in my typing classes.

What would you do with the $25,000?
I would use it as seed money to publish my Princess BranDan book series, produce the Princess BranDan Family Musical Stage Play, and take care of a few personal needs such as ensuring that I have a suitable workspace, equipment, and reliable transportation.
