Make outreach human again 🫶🏽

There's a collective ick creatives feel about outreach right now, and I don't think it's really about outreach itself. It's the robotic, copy-paste version of it, the templates that don't sound like you, the AI-generated emails that took thirty seconds to write and feel exactly like it.

The most effective outreach isn't the most polished or the highest volume. It's the most human. The email that sounds like a real person wrote it, sent to a dream client you actually chose, acknowledging the fear instead of pretending it's not there.

I have ADHD, so I built this system to be low lift enough that I can actually maintain it, while still making sure every email feels like it came from a real person with a real reason for reaching out.

Proof of life / A last look at one of the banners I created for Deep Ellum x Deep Ellum Foundation x Visit Dallas | Things to do in Dallas

It’s been a strange season of my life the past few months. I’m simultaneously having the best financial year of my life (which is nuts and I’m so happy about), but I’ve also been dealing with a major health issue and all that comes with it. I’m grateful to my wonderful clients who have allowed me to stay creative AND pay my bills during this time, because WHEW…I’ve been through it recently.

I know, I know, I’m somehow saying everything and nothing right now, BUT I am actively working on a project to tell the whole story of what this season means for me, and the story is still being formed as we speak. I’m already excited to share it with you…even though half of me is afraid the ADHD will win out and I’ll never finish the project 😂 But I think I’ll see this one through, because it’s big, and I do want to share it.

I'm working on a really exciting project right now that I wish I could share! In the meantime, here are my Modern Muses illustrations, a personal project in which I imagined packaging for a coffee brand. With names like Boss Brew, Motivation Mix, and Creativity Cream, my imaginary brand was aimed at creatives who use coffee as fuel for their day.

I went wandering around this weekend with my best friend to find all my banners for the International Culture Showcase by and in person.⁠
