You don’t need Photoshop to design professional backdrops. 👀

The real question is: What do you need your software to DO?

Create your canvas.
Work with layers.
Add photos, graphics, and text.
Create effects.
Export for printing.

GIMP can give you those capabilities for FREE.

Already use Photoshop? Keep using it. But if you’re a beginner, you don’t have to buy Photoshop just to start designing.

I designed this custom Space Jam backdrop on my laptop, then had it professionally printed for the customer.

That’s why I tell beginner designers: learn the DESIGN first. You can outsource the printing. 🙌🏾

Two backdrops. Two twins. One celebration. 👏🏾

For this event, I created coordinating backdrop designs for each twin—same overall color palette and style, but each one personalized with their own photo and name.

That’s the beauty of learning how to design from scratch. You can create pieces that coordinate without making them identical. 💻✨
