Important information for Household Hazardous Waste & Shred Day! 🗑️

Our collection is still happening as planned tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Branch County Fairgrounds. Please note that another event will also be taking place at the fairgrounds.

Enter the fairgrounds from Sprague Street and stay to the right. Staff will be available to direct you where to go. The collection will be held in the same location as in previous years.

Calling all 1st–4th graders!

It’s time to get creative with CBPU’s Public Utilities Week Coloring Contest! Students can grab their favorite crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paints and bring their artwork to life while learning more about the electricity that helps power our Coldwater community each day.

One overall winner will receive a $50 gift card and a CBPU gift basket. And there’s something special in it for our third-grade classrooms, too! The third-grade class that submits the most completed contest entries will win an ice cream party sponsored by CBPU.

All artwork and completed learning sheets must be submitted by Friday, September 25, 2026. Student artwork will be displayed at Coldwater City Hall throughout October.

🦺 Excavation Safety Training in Action!

Last week, the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities partnered with Alpha Omega Safety Solutions, which provided excavation safety training for CBPU crews.

The training included both classroom instruction and hands-on field training, allowing our crews to put proper safety practices into action. Investing in safety training helps our team stay prepared, work safely, and look out for one another in the field.

A little color, a lot of community spirit! 🌈

CBPU was proud to support the Branch County United Way's Live United in Color Run & Walk this past weekend. We loved cheering on the runners and supporting an event that brings our community together!

On Friday, August 7, we celebrated 135 years of CBPU with our employees, retirees, and the community that has supported us throughout the years. ❤️⚡

We began the morning by gathering with our retirees for breakfast — honoring the people who helped build CBPU and laid the foundation for where we are today. We then celebrated the present with a luncheon for our employees and community, reflecting on 135 years of service and the people who continue to make CBPU what it is.

A special thank you to Coldwater Community Center at the Beech House for helping make our celebration possible, and to all of our employees who helped set up, organize, and make the day so special.

Here’s to 135 years of powering Coldwater, and many more to come!
