A Better Pet LLC provides services and recommended products to enhance the human-animal bond. We provide training for people and their pet or working dogs, individually and in groups. All services begin with the introduction of The Six Pillars of Dog Training Wisdom. This user-friendly multimedia approach helps guide owners into developing a relationship with their dog using positive, non-force-based methods. Our mission is to teach people how to become the Benevolent Leader — someone who teaches the dog what to do, in a way that makes the dog want to do it. Our other services include service dog training, Drop-In Play (DIP), specialty clinics, board & train (including puppy raising), Distance Learning, temperament testing, rescue/rehoming services and even cat training. We also make and sell the patented Har-Vest, a 3-in-1 backpack for dogs.

Things we do at DIP(drop in play, bonus benefit of training through A Better Pet)! Here DIP regular Eve managed an amazing and impressive EIGHT DOG SIT — long enough to get a photo! Took patience, some coaching and a little effort but very impressive, especially because her own dogs were flummoxed by it all and the pups Ora, Jib and Anchor are new to this game. Thanks to Puffin, Remi, Pinto, Shamrock, Nickel, Jib, Anchor and Ora for their cooperation!

Shamrock will be 8 later this month. This Libra is an all around magnificent beast who was born underfoot from the first litter that spans my second shift of hobby breeding (2018-2026). Shamrock was brother and littermate to Pixie and Mabel, and from Franny’s first litter.

He is in excellent health, at a perfect weight, and is well known as an exquisite if not slightly ocd dog who plays fetch with such panache. He’s a stellar traveler, big brother, uncle and all around a most abiding dude.

Orby update. One week into her new life:

“Orby’s first week in Brooklyn:
She is happy with her new home, trying to win over her cat roommate while she already has the hearts of everyone else! She is adjusting to stoops and stairs and other dogs in the park. She is fond of socks and shoes and already found a tiny pot to climb into! She is smart and silly and we are all happy she joined our family! “

Delightful to know her quirk about being inside containment systems is maintained!

ADOPT TODAY! abetterpet.com/contact. Anchor and Jib are the last two Nauticals that need forever homes!

Orby moved out today and her departure is bittersweet. I am always so delighted when they find their future partners in life after their quintessential perfect puppyhood of family, freedoms, fun, frolic, fanfare and foundation. Orby headed east today during a drizzly day and one by one they’re leaving.

Jib and Anchor, the boys of this litter, are ready to be partnered and I hope my patience at finding them their purpose will be as touching as this one.

I’m gonna miss this sweet, irreverent and singular personality. Orby will get to hobnob with Brooklyn, NY dogs soon. I hope they find her as enchanting as her CLE buddies!

Orby’s still carrying on with her signature move. Getting in and out of containment systems — with or without water! This Nautical is moving east next week to her new home and people in Brooklyn, NY. Wonder how many more times I’ll see her get in and out of more shapes. 💕

Handsome, sturdy, sweet and sometimes naughty, Jib handled my hot tub haircut so cooperatively!
