💦🐌 Beyond grateful for this opportunity! Hoping to do more street art like this in the future! 🌀🙃

Another storm drain mural has been completed! This one is located at 401 E Martin Luther King Jr, Drive. “I hope you and the Tarpon Springs community love it! What an honor it was to create.” Said artist Lisa “itty” Haskell.

The City of Tarpon Springs Sustainability Division and the City’s Public Art Committee have been working together for months to bring beautiful, educational art to a handful of storm drain locations. The purpose of the new storm drain murals is to educate about the importance of protecting our waterways by preventing stormwater pollution and allowing “only rain down the drain”. The Anclote River, Tarpon Springs’ many beautiful bayous, and the Gulf coast are integral components of the City’s vibrance and should be protected as well as celebrated. Five storm drain locations were selected for this purpose in the first phase of the Storm Drain Mural program, with plans to expand and open future phases in the coming months.

Thanks to the Public Art Committee for funding these one-of-a-kind art installations!

He’s an itty bit wonky, but HE’S MINE! 🥹

SO seriously proud of my first itty CREATION to hit the streets, and on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at that! WHAT AN HONOR!! 💜

My heart is so full it feels like it could burst! 💥

I’d like to say this is only the beginning, but it’s not.
It has been a long lived snail trail that led me here, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
The journey often makes the destination worthwhile!

💦 I recently entered into a Public Art Call for the city of Tarpon Springs, to help raise environmental awareness on stormwater pollution.

⛈️ The initiative is called “Only Rain Down The Drain” and it’s to encourage the community to keep Florida’s streets clean and clear of waste, chemicals, & other various pollutants that then flow into the storm water pipes, affecting us and the natural world.

🌊 As someone who constantly shoots their shot in art competitions and loses. I am beyond thrilled to say I created 5 designs, 1 for each location… & ☝️ ACTUALLY GOT SELECTED!! 😭🥹😭🥹

🌿 Been busy 🐝🐝🐝🐝 GROWING INTO OUR BEST SELVES 🌺 w/

🌱 This mural took us 5 days to complete with the corrugated metal giving us a run for our money, but we pushed through like seeds in soil and created something big, bold, beautiful, & lasting! 🌴🌼🌺🌸🖌️

The motto at The Creative ArtNest is -
“PAINT BIG, LOVE BIG”
& we did just that!

“In Too Deep” 🐙

Is a recent digital illustration of an Octopus stuck in a tank of “treasure”, that I created for a LIVE painting competition I entered, that I unfortunately, didn’t make it in.

If I had a coin for every competition I entered and didn’t make the cut, the coins at the bottom of this illustration would be a pretty accurate representation of my L’s.

However, that never stops me from shooting my shot.

One could say I’m “in too deep”! 🙂‍↕️

I really want to get this idea on canvas so I’m going to enter it into one more LIVE painting competition coming up.
& If I don’t make it into that, I’m thinking, maybe I’ll have to try my first online LIVE STREAM….🤔?
