The Network Engineer is responsible for the coordination, management, implementation and monitoring of client's LAN, WAN and wireless networks. Performs day to day administration, capacity planning, management and support of network services, and strategic planning for the LAN, WAN and wireless networks. You will be responsible for preventing unauthorized access to our customer's data and responding to privacy breaches. In this role, you should be knowledgeable about security frameworks and systems, routing protocols, and network best practices. You should also be familiar with VoIP systems and implementation. If you’re a problem-solver and quick decision-maker, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to ensure that our customer's technology infrastructure is well designed and protected.
Requirements:
3+ years experience in network (Route/Switch) engineering
2+ years experience in wireless, security engineering
1+ years experience in deploying VoIP services
Responsibilities
Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks
Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans
Install, configure and upgrade security software (e.g. antivirus programs)
Secure networks through firewalls, password protection and other systems
Inspect hardware for vulnerable points of access
Monitor network activity to identify issues early and communicate them to IT teams
Act on privacy breaches and malware threats
Serve as a security expert and conduct trainings when needed
Draft policies and guidelines
Actively participate in systems engineering projects involving multiple disciplines that may impact multiple business units within an organization.
Enforces industry best practices for security in relation to networking and firewalls.
Primarily responsible for the daily operational support of all client network infrastructure.
Skills
Proven experience as a Network Engineer
Significant experience with LAN/WAN internetworking, network topologies, communications protocols and analysis.
Knowledge of patch management, firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems (TippingPoint, Cisco ASA, Sophos XG, Fortinet, etc.)
Monitoring, interoperability and troubleshooting routers and switches, as well as upgrading network firmware/hardware.
Detailed knowledge of Network/Security protocols such as MPLS, WCCP, GLBP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, Spanning Tree, EIGRP, HSRP, PVST, PBR, Radius, TACACS, ACLs, and L2/L3 switching is required as well as hands-on involvement with interconnecting routers, firewalls and switch products with one another on an enterprise scale.
Knowledge of enterprise deployment common practices and understanding how complex technology integration affects the overall network stability and performance.
Experience deploying QoS, Diffserv, and VOIP.
A thorough background in systems implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding communication and organization skills
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; professional certification (CompTIA Security+, CISSP,CCNA,CompTIA Net+) is a plus
