One of the biggest changes in my life in the last year is that I started investing with intention. I’ve been doing it passively for years with an IRA, but I decided to jump in with both feet, learn about what I was doing, and basically increase my chances of surviving capitalism. It helped that I met a great mentor, Krzysztof “Monkey” Piekarski at Wall Street Wildlife. WSW is a passion project for him and his podcast partner Luke “Badger” Hallard. Their show aims to educate new and experienced investors in a friendly and fun way, while uncovering companies that are making the world a better place.

When I was asked to work on a redesign for them I jumped at the chance and I couldn’t resist creating an animation for their YouTube show.

Two of the greatest things you can give a creative person are time and freedom, and The Nature Trust of British Columbia gave me both. This is one of my favorite projects ever, and I got to grow in multiple directions - storyboarding, illustration, animation, and sound editing. Such a rewarding experience.

Do I know anyone in the green energy space? I'd love to connect with people working on solar or other renewable energy alternatives, EVs, or companies with a strong belief in sustainability. This is where I'd like to start focusing my creative skills because I think it's the most important issue of our lifetime and critical for the survival of the planet.

This was a really fun project - a collaboration with one of my favorite organizations, The Cinematheque, for their Halloween Godzilla series. I was asked to create an illustration to be the main marketing image. It ended up on street posters, social media, inside the theatre, and on the big screen!

I recently had the opportunity to work on a book cover for a new edition of Don Hough’s “The Funeral Girl,” a beautiful collection of short stories about people yearning for connection and the aspects of modern society that keep us isolated.

I especially enjoyed working on the illustration on the back cover, a specific memelike photograph that is central to one of the stories.
