6 AM and the de-puff patches are still on. Nobody talks about this part.

Up before the sun to grab my friend and head to an event. The de-puff eye patch was still doing its thing because 6 AM and a good night’s sleep don’t usually happen together.

The truth is, the put-together version everyone sees at the event started like this. Lipstick on when we get there, coffee picked up on our way, patches trying their best to fake well-rested.

Okay, THIS is why I show up to these luncheons. 🙌

Yesterday the Lynnwood Chamber put three people who are actually shaping our community in one room: State Rep Lauren Davis, County Councilmember Jared Mead, and Police Chief Cole Langdon.

No sugarcoating the challenges our region is facing, just honest talk about the work happening behind the scenes and why we’re all better when government, law enforcement, and businesses stay connected.

It’s easy to stay heads-down in our own day-to-day. But conversations like this are the reminder: the future of where we live and work gets shaped in rooms like this one.

Working 60-hour weeks isn't dedication. It’s a systems problem: and it cost this founder 17 hours a week until we fixed it.

She looked successful on paper but was drowning behind the scenes. The business had grown, but the operations hadn't. In 30 days and two focused sessions, we closed the ex*****on gap.

✨ What if business growth wasn’t about working harder?

Last Thursday at The Circle, we explored two powerful ideas that every woman in business needs: how to tell stories that inspire action and how to use systems and AI to work smarter, not harder.

Cassie Morey from Clothes For Kids reminded us that stories create connection, build trust, and drive impact. Andrea Florescu shared practical ways to leverage AI and systems to reduce overwhelm and create more space for what matters most.

Attendees didn’t just leave inspired. They walked away with simple systems they could implement immediately, along with real-world AI use cases tailored to their individual businesses and industries.

I interviewed state legislators today. Here’s my take.

1. When you’re invited in the room where decisions are made, you speak up! 🎙️

I was the only woman on a business endorsement panel interviewing state legislators and I asked some hard questions!

We talked about permitting delays, construction costs, housing affordability, taxes, policies… these aren’t just talking points. These are reasons good employees can’t afford to live near where they work and it’s affecting not just them but also our customers and everybody’s bottom line.

2. Who to choose in the next elections:

➡️ If you want competence and leverage, go with the incumbent guy.

➡️ If you want to shake things up, go with the new guy.

3. The consensus on the panel: small business owners need more than handshake, campaign promises, or requests for a donation. We need to have a seat at the table and when we get one we should use it!

Can we talk about aka for a second? 🙌

I messaged her yesterday afternoon out of nowhere asking if she could squeeze me in for a root touch-up, last minute, barely any notice. She messaged me back right away and she came through with a next-day 6AM or 7AM slot! I chose SIX AM, people. 😭

That kind of flexibility and dedication is rare, and I don’t take it for granted. She didn’t have to make it work, but she did, and that means everything for a busy girl like me.

That’s what a badass businesswoman looks like. She’s someone who shows up early, says yes when it counts, and makes her customers feel like a priority every single time. She’s not just good in business. She also runs her business with heart and hustle. 💪

I came with the “high maintenance.”
Together? A public safety concern for mediocre energy.

Honestly though… custom hat era might be our entire personality now. 💅🏻
