While I was in Virginia, I stopped by Colonial Williamsburg and saw the 250th Celebration Quilt! This quilt is absolutely incredible, and it’s hard to believe just how big it is. It measures 500 feet long and 5 feet wide, so they're unable to display it all at once. Here are some of my favorite blocks!

I had such a great time at Sunshine Quilt Corner!

I taught two wonderful groups of students: Design Your Own Pixel Quilt and a B08 Masterclass. These photos are from the Pixel Quilt class — I was blown away by the creativity and talent in this group! So many fun and unique ideas. I love seeing what you all come up with!

We also had a fun afternoon of Strip Poker, raising $2,000 for my Starlight Children's Foundation campaign!!

Do you know just how beneficial gaming in hospitals can be? 💙

For kids facing a hospital stay, gaming can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, ease their perception of pain, and give them a little sense of normalcy and control during a difficult time.

Through Starlight Gaming, more than 15 million gaming sessions have been provided to hospitalized kids since 1992. That’s a whole lot of play making a big difference!!

I’ll be at Sunshine Quilt Corner in Newport, Virginia on Saturday, August 29 from 9:15 AM–4 PM, teaching you how to design your own pixel quilt using gridded fusible interfacing.

You can create your own small-scale design, about 20 x 20 pixels, or use one of my pixel patterns. Either way, I’ll show you just how easy it is to turn an idea into a quilt!

And the best part? It’s scrap-friendly! Just make sure your scraps are at least 2" x 2". Lunch is included, so come sew, learn, and spend the day playing with fabric!!

Like I’m sure many of you, yesterday’s news hit me. I found myself thinking about Dolly Parton and her lifelong commitment to education, literacy, and helping others.

So in honor of her legacy, I'm challenging everyone to pick up a book that has been banned or challenged. Animal Farm. The Catcher in the Rye. The Color Purple. The Handmaid’s Tale... there are so many great options! Pick one. Read it. Talk about it.

And while you're at it, support your local library. Volunteer, donate, or simply stop in and check out a book. Then tag a friend and challenge them to join you!
