The last 2 weeks have been filled with frustration and high anxiety levels, trying to plan for the potential then reality of severe weather. As of this morning, we had about 35 of the 69 Vets & First Responders still wanting to come and just hangout.
As of about 630 this morning, we were made aware of thr road conditions along Hwy 12. At that point, it was in everyone's best interest to cancel the festivities this weekend.
We are so grateful for the support of both the Oregon Inlet fleet, as well as the Hatteras fleet involved. This is by far the biggest event Ive ever organized or been a part of. It had alot of highs and lows. But the fact that so many wanted to come together and just hangout after the offshore tripnwas canceled, is just reassuring as to why these events are important to both the Veterans and First responders communities.
While we still have alot of details to finalize for 2027, our dates are tentatively scheduled for Sept 23-26, 2027.
Up next we visit Not Forgotten Racing at The Pit Oct 3, Heroes Benefit BBQ Oct 10, Golf tournament Oct 24, then we're gonna try to work in some live baiting king Mackeral trips in Nov/ Dec, before get ready for Bluefin season in Jan.

Mother Nature always wins, but it ain’t slowing us down! Fingers crossed the flood gates hold up!

While theres alot of variables with events that we can control, the weather is not 1 of them.
We have pretty much canceled the offshore portion of the event. About 90% of the Vets & First Responders selected, are satisfied with just having the opportunity to get together and maybe try some surf fishing or pier fishing. Right now, we're at the mercy of mother nature and the passability of Hwy 12.
TrueTimber helped us find a unique canvas for The Odyssey Collective to work their magic.
Frisco Woods Campground will be playing host for everything other than fishing.
RTIC Outdoors has set us up with some goodies.
Layden's Supermarket has provided us with pork butts for dinner Friday night and Sausage for breakfast.
Tavern on 12 will be slinging pizzas for dinner Saturday night.
We have everything set in place for a fun and relaxing weekend, just need mother nature to back off just a lil bit.
