🚨 YOUR BIGGEST SECURITY RISK MIGHT NOT BE YOUR COMPUTER. IT MIGHT BE YOU.

Think your phone or computer is secure? It probably is. 🔐

One of the biggest ways criminals gain access to accounts and information isn’t by “hacking” the device at all — it’s by hacking the person.

That’s called social engineering.

They may pretend to be your bank, Microsoft, Amazon, a coworker, a friend, or even someone you know to get you to hand over information.

👉 A password
👉 A security code
👉 Personal information
👉 A credit card number
👉 Access to your account

Stop. Think. Verify.

If someone is pressuring you to act immediately, that’s a HUGE red flag. 🚩

💻 The strongest security system in the world can’t protect you if you give the keys away.

Stay smart. Stay skeptical. Stay secure. 🔒

💻 Is Your Computer Still Running Windows 10… or Even Windows 7?

Thinking about buying a new computer? Before you keep putting it off, take a look at what you're running today.

If your computer is still running Windows 10, remember that Microsoft officially ended support on October 14, 2025. Windows 7 has been unsupported since January 2020. That means these systems no longer receive normal security updates and fixes that help protect your computer from viruses, malware, and other threats.

And it's not just about security. As operating systems get older, web browsers, applications, websites, printers, security software, and other devices may eventually stop supporting them. You may start running into compatibility issues that make everyday tasks harder.

If you're using your computer for online banking, shopping, email, social media, or storing personal information, running an outdated operating system is something you shouldn't ignore.

💰 There's another reason not to wait.

Computer hardware prices continue to increase, and there’s no guarantee that the computer you’re looking at today will cost the same six months from now. If you already know your computer is aging and you're going to need a replacement eventually, purchasing sooner rather than later could save you money and help you avoid an unexpected emergency purchase when your old PC finally gives up.

🖥️ Thinking about a new computer?
Let Cannon Computers help you find the right computer for your needs and budget. We can help you choose the right hardware, transfer your files, and get everything set up and ready to go.

Don't wait until your old computer becomes a security problem—or dies when you need it most.

One of the biggest things I want everyone to remember is this:

Apple, Microsoft, Google, or ANY legitimate technology company will NEVER call you out of the blue and demand money because there is a problem with your computer, phone, account, or device.

They will not tell you that you've committed a crime.
They will not tell you to withdraw $30,000 in cash.
They will not ask you to buy gift cards.
They will not demand cryptocurrency.
They will not send someone to collect your money.

Scammers use fear, urgency, and intimidation to make you act before you have time to think.

If someone calls claiming to be Apple, Microsoft, Google, your bank, the IRS, law enforcement, or another trusted organization and starts demanding money — HANG UP.

Then contact that organization using a phone number or website you know is legitimate. Do not use the number the caller gives you.

And remember: You are NOT in trouble. Legitimate companies and law enforcement aren't going to demand gift cards, cash, cryptocurrency, or money transfers to "fix" your computer or keep you from being arrested.

If you're ever unsure, stop and talk to someone you trust before sending a dime.

And if you think you've been scammed or someone is trying to scam you, don't be embarrassed. Reach out for help. At Cannon Computers, we're happy to help you figure out what's going on and determine whether something is legitimate.

Please share this with your parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors. A five-minute conversation today could save someone thousands of dollars tomorrow.

When in doubt: STOP. HANG UP. VERIFY.

🚨 SCAM ALERT! 🚨

Scammers are getting smarter, and they’re going after your money through gift cards, bank transfers, and cryptocurrency.

One thing to remember: scammers can spoof phone numbers, meaning the caller ID can actually show your bank’s real phone number. So even if it looks legitimate, don’t trust caller ID alone.

If someone calls claiming to be your bank and says there’s a problem with your account, HANG UP. Then call your bank directly using the phone number on the back of your debit/credit card or from the bank’s official website to verify the call.

🎁 Gift cards? Huge red flag.
🏦 “Move your money to protect it”? Scam.
₿ “Send us cryptocurrency”? STOP!

When in doubt: STOP. HANG UP. VERIFY.

And if you think you may have already been scammed, don’t be embarrassed and don’t wait — reach out to Cannon Computers. We’ll do our best to help you figure out what happened and what steps you should take next.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Protect your money.
