Kiwi App v1.6.2 September Release — Sept. 9, 2026

This September release focuses on reliability and a smoother experience across Kiwi and Kiwi+ devices, with fixes for firmware updates, device detection, and video status handling.

For Pro and Plus users, we’ve also added a new Boot Mouse toolbar button that appears when Boot Mode (BIOS/UEFI) is detected, making mouse control during BIOS/UEFI setup easier to access.

* Reduced false alarm about 'USB2 cable' when detecting Kiwi

As Kiwi continues to mature, we're moving from monthly releases to quarterly releases. This isn't because development is slowing down, quite the opposite, Kiwi has reached a level of stability and quality that allows our engineering team to spend more time focused on the next generation of products instead of frequent maintenance releases. What's new in v1.6.0?

🔐 Official Vendor ID issued by USB.ORG
We're proud to announce that Cytrence has officially obtained our own USB Vendor ID from usb.org, making us the first USB KVM manufacturer to achieve this milestone. Owning our own Vendor ID reflects our commitment to security, standards compliance, and long-term product integrity for enterprise deployments.
🏗️ Preparing for the Next Generation
A significant portion of this release focuses on strengthening Kiwi's underlying architecture to support our expanding hardware lineup. The first product to benefit will be Kiwi+ VGA, which will be available for pre-order soon.
🖥️ Improved BIOS Experience
We've enhanced BIOS compatibility with the addition of Boot-Mode Mouse, allowing graphical BIOS interfaces from major motherboard vendors to be navigated with a mouse during boot. Not every KVM can do that. Checkout the demo video and try with your own Kiwi after upgrading to v1.6.0.
