Winding down the outdoor movie season for 2026 as we head into the October home stretch w/ 5 weekend events planned. Although night time temps starting to dip into the high 40's, at closing credits, still an enjoyable atmosphere with fall movie start times around 7 pm. Here's a few pics & videos taken from this past weekend as Halloween festivities ramp up at Camp Dearborn!

Leafs and night temperatures are starting to Fall, but this past weekend confirms that theres time & opportunity to get out and enjoy a community outdoor movie night. At least that's what the folks would say that came out in Roschester Hills & Fraser. Huge crowds came out to enjoy the 2026 fan favorite Zootopiia-2 and the 2025 Live Anmation "Lilo & Stitch"! Still several events left on the schedule as we enter in October! Looking forward to closing out 2026 in fine fashion!

Wild weather returns this weekend as it looks like we're going to reschedule events planned for today. Luckily, we were able to get Commerce Elementary under the wire and into the "performed" column, before sprinkles started falling during closing credits. Over 200 folks came out to enjoy the Jack Black Classic "Kung Fu Panda". Special thanks to Caitlin and Jennifer for choosing STR to perform their event.

Great late summer weather for a Friday night moonlight movie in downtown Monroe, right on the River Raisin and a Saturdaay evening customer appreciation movie event performance in the amphitheater at Caledonia Community Green Park. Special thanks to Amy & Rachel for selecting STR to perform their events!

Friday night was a complete bust in Whitmore Lake as 90% chance of rain showers convinced the customer to cancel the event. A nice rebound however Saturday night as STR performed a well attended family movie night in the Grand Rapids area. A quanit, and picturesque community park. Zootopia-2 on the 18 ft screen served as the main attraction!

Although Saturday night was a complete washout on the east side of the state, Comstock Park was picture perfect for a late summer community movie night. Special thanks to Brittany @ Westgate Park – Bellabay Realty for booking STR to perform this 2nd annual event!

There will be "Goonies" on the Whitmore Lake waterfront tonight! My suggestion, swing by the Whitmore Lake Tavern for a casual Friday night dinner & cocktail, then walk across the street w/ your lawn chair and blanket for a free outdoor movie! Looks like rain in the forecast for all day Saturday & Sunday, so this may be your only chance for a fun, family centric outdoor weekend event!

A wise musician once said. "don't be sad, because 2 out of 3 aint bad". So it went this past week as the brisk & wet weather forced one reschedule on a back-2-back-2-back movie night event schedule. Although a little windy & chilly in the evening, it turned out to be a pleasant movie night under the stars in Milford & Whitmore Lake. The STR-14 screen was featured and a great program for crowd sizes in the 100 people or less range. A great bargain too for around $500. Summer solstice is here and hopefully better weather is in the forecast!
