Last Friday evening, my wife and I had to say goodbye to our sweet baby angel, Nzuri. She was far too young to have crossed the rainbow bridge and there will forever be a void shaped hole in our hearts…
Nzuri was my first cat, the cat that made me fall in love with cats, and even more specifically with black cats. I know every cat owner says their cat is special and that was 10000% the case with Nzuri. She was the sweetest, cuddliest and most compassionate cat we’ve ever met and it’s a tragedy her loving nature is no longer here to bless this world.
Nzuri’s passing was due to unknown neurological issues. Over the past few years, we reached out to many professionals to see if we could find a solution or cure for her and to no avail, no one had any answers for us. This was such a heartbreaking blow as we only wanted the best for our little girl and to watch her dwindle away over the course of 18 months is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone and wouldn’t want any cat to ever go through. She was so strong and displayed so much happiness and positivity every day, even on the days that we’re so great. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each and every vet, vet tech, special care provider, family member and friend that loved her, took care of her and helped our little girl live the best life she could.
In honor of Nzuri, we will be making donation, in her honor, to Every Cat Health Foundation in hopes that one day there can be a cure for whatever disease Nzuri had, and in hope that no other kitty has to go through life without an answer or cure. If you would like to help honor Nzuri, please consider buying some of my art, specifically, any of my cat related pieces. 100% of the profits from any cat related art sold in the next 30 days will be donated in Nzuri’s honor. Additionally, this post/my page has an open donation campaign, for the next 30 days, linked to the Every Cat Health Foundation.
We are so sad that our first kitty has passed on and these past few days have been absolutely hell to endure. We hope she’s somewhere, back to her full health, enjoying everything she loved. Until we meet again. We love you, Pookie 🖤🖤🖤
