Me & My Canoe

Me & My Canoe
Creative Works by Kaitlyn Sapone. Designer, Illustrator & Maker of Things. Based in Northern Minn.

I often spend time outdoors: canoeing, hiking, camping, you name it. Much of my inspiration comes from time spent in nature, "disconnecting" and finding that inner-rhythm and flow. I try to share my reflections and findings through artwork, writing, and teaching. My hope is that in some way shape or form that my creations bring you joy, balance, inspirations and more!

More sketches. Blade (10.5) and Rodent (10.6), to be honest I didn't love either of these prompts... it took me a while to draft something I was happy with.

I think I'll have more fun with the next prompts "fancy" and "teeth". Stay tuned.

My latest Inktober drawings: Wisp (10.2), Bulky (10.3) and Radio (10.4).

Wisp literally took me forever to figure out, but I’m happy with this how it ended up! Next up is “Blade” and then... “Rodent”.

I’m just going to leave this here for those who may need to hear it:

it’s ok to acknowledge the parts of you that might be in pain, feel broken, unworthy, shameful or maybe even just down right angry. Whatever it might be. The important part to take note of, is how you choose to consciously deal with those aspects of yourself.

Healing is a choice, and an on-going process in which one chooses to know one’s self at a core level. In all honesty yes, it’s hard and it does take courage. Be prepared, it takes a lot of forgiveness too. At a deep level; it challenges you to let go, and when you let go, when you surrender.... a new space can be made for a different set of potentials to flow in. Letting go doesn’t mean ‘forgetting’ but rather, that you’re choosing to no longer be defined by the emotional weight of the past-experience.

This process ultimately allows us to shift the relationship with our past-selves. Powerful indeed. Why is the important? Because it opens you up for new opportunity to align with who you’re really meant to be.

Pretty stoked with how this ended up turning out. A fun project to just explore style and type. Meow!

Happy Earth Day everyone! Nature nurtures, she has supported us for thousands and thousand of years. Remember? I think it’s about time we (humanity) nurture nature and show some love back.

Our world can, and will be a place of unity and harmony. All we have to do is be willing to commit to true change. ❤️🌎

Deep down I do believe that the Universe is always working with you, with us. I know it might not always seem this way, but when it comes down to it — all that’s really required is a shift in perspective.

We know that our challenges have the potential to make us stronger, we effectively learn to grow and mature through them. Not to say that our difficulties aren’t troublesome, they very much are... So rather, it’s the way in which we choose to navigate our experiences in these tough scenarios. It’s that shift I mentioned, a choice in how you choose to move through your challenges. When you realize it’s a choice everything changes.

So the more we learn to *trust* in the process, and I mean really trust it. Trusting in the idea that there is a choice in how you choose to deal with things. The more you’ll start to see the intelligent flow of life around you. Practice this and the more you’ll start to see the ways in which you have the potential to influence these streams of information. The more you’ll realize your potential to be the Observer, and the Mover.
